Bonnyrigg is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 36 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Fairfield. It is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. History Bonnyrigg takes its name from Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, Scotland. In 1803, Governor King Arthur Philip granted land for the building of an orphanage. A two-storey Georgian house was erected in Brown Road and became the Male Orphan Schoolchildren's Residence. Electoral District Of Cabramatta
Cabramatta is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. Its current member is Nick Lalich of the Labor Party. Cabramatta is a 25.73 km2 urban electorate in Greater Western Sydney, centred on the suburb of Cabramatta from which it takes its name. It also includes the suburbs of Bonnyrigg, Bonnyrigg Heights, Cabramatta West, Canley Vale, Edensor Park, Greenfield Park, Lansvale, Mount Pritchard and St Johns Park. Greater Western Sydney (GWS) is a large region of the metropolitan area of Greater Sydney, New South Wales (NSW), Australia that generally embraces the north-west, south-west, central-west, and far western sub-regions within Sydney's metropolitan area and encompasses 13 local government areas: Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Hills Shire, Liverpool, Parramatta, Penrith and Wollondilly. Police & Community Youth Clubs (PCYC) or Police and Community Youth Clubs are a network of Australian non-profit, community organisations, founded in New South Wales. In some states such as NSW, they are constituted as an Incorporated Association. The Mission of PCYC is to get young people active in life; develop their skills, character and leadership; and prevent and reduce crime by and against young people. Busby is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Busby is located 37 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool. The Male Orphan School land is a heritage-listed former vineyard and orchard and now vacant land at Lot 1 Cartwright Street, Bonnyrigg, City of Fairfield, New South Wales, Australia. It was built during 1803 by James Busby. It is also known as Land Next to Male Orphan School, The Homestead, Male Schoolmaster's Residence and Bonnyrigg House. Bonnyrigg House
Bonnyrigg House is a heritage-listed homestead complex at Cartwright Street, Bonnyrigg, City of Fairfield, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by possibly Francis Greenway and built from 1825 to 1826 by A. Kinghorne and Thomas Moore. It is also known as Male Orphan School, The Homestead and Schoolmaster's residence. The property is owned by Department of Planning and Environment (General). It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. History 1804 Governor King granted in Cabramatta to the Female Orphan School, which had outgrown its city site on George and Bridge Streets, after lobbying from Reverend Samuel Marsden.
