Mark Pincus
Mark Jonathan Pincus (born February 13, 1966) is an American Internet entrepreneur known as the founder of Zynga, a mobile social gaming company. Pincus also founded the startups Freeloader, Inc., Tribe Networks, and Support.com. Pincus was the CEO of Zynga until July 2013, then again from 2015 to 2016. Pincus was named 2009 "CEO of the Year" at The Crunchies technology awards and a year later was named Founder of the Year at the 2010 ceremony. Zynga is considered to be the pioneer of the social gaming industry. In 2011, Zynga went public with a $1 billion initial public offering. ''Zynga Poker'' is a social game developed by Zynga as an application for the social-networking website Facebook as well as Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, Windows, MySpace, Tagged, and Google+. It was launched in July 2007. In 2011, with 38 million players, ''Zynga Poker'' was the largest poker site in the world. ''FarmVille'' is a series of agriculture-simulation social network games developed and published by Zynga in 2009. It is similar to '' Happy Farm'' and ''Farm Town''. Its gameplay involves various aspects of farmland management, such as plowing land, planting, growing, and harvesting crops, harvesting trees and raising livestock. The sequels ''FarmVille 2'' and ''FarmVille 3'' were released in September 2012 and November 2021, respectively. The game was available as an Adobe Flash application via the social networking website Facebook and Microsoft's MSN Games. ''CityVille'' was a casual social city-building game developed by Zynga, and released in December 2010. A sequel, '' CityVille 2'', was released in December 2012. It was closed down in February 2013 just three months after the game's release. ''CityVille'' was shut down on April 30, 2015. Players had been given a notice when opening the game prior to the shutdown. Gameplay ''CityVille'' allows players to become the owner of a virtual city and to oversee its development into a large metropolis. The city can grow with various tasks to be performed. Don Mattrick
Donald Allan Mattrick (born February 13, 1964) is a Canadian businessman who co-founded Distinctive Software (DSI) in 1982 in Vancouver at age 17, while graduating from high school and attending Simon Fraser University where he studied business and managerial economics. DSI became the largest independent game developer in North America and was then acquired by Electronic Arts in 1991 who renamed it to EA Vancouver and later EA Canada. Mattrick worked at EA Canada for 15 years as the president of Worldwide Studios. ''Words with Friends'' is a multiplayer computer word game developed by Zynga with Friends, Newtoy. Players take turns building words crossword-puzzle style in a manner similar to the classic board game ''Scrabble''.
