Proctotrupoidea
Proctotrupoidea is a hymenopteran superfamily containing seven extant families, though others have been recognized in the past, most of these having been removed to a recently erected superfamily Diaprioidea. Of the remaining families, only Proctotrupidae contains a substantial number of species, with over 400 described. The others are small, often Relict (biology), relictual groups. See links for individual families for details of life history and diversity. See also Tree of Life Apocrita shows polyphyletic Proctotrupoidea. References

Peleserphidae is an extinct family of wasps belonging to the superfamily Proctotrupoidea. It is currently known from four species in three genera. Proctotrupidae
Proctotrupidae is a family of parasitic wasps in the superfamily Proctotrupoidea. There are about 400 species in more than 30 genera in Proctotrupidae, found throughout most of the world. Proctotrupidae are small parasitoid wasps, that primarily parasitise larvae of beetles belonging to the families Carabidae, Staphylinidae, and Elateridae, though a number of species are known to target other hosts, including Fungus gnat, fungus gnats (Mycetophilidae, Sciaridae) and Oecophoridae, concealer moths. Females in many species are wingless and dwell in the soil, where they are capable of detecting beetle larvae in their burrows. They typically have a body length of 5 to 8 mm, but species may range from 3 to 15 mm. Codrus Picicornis
Codrus (; ; Greek: , ''Kódros'') was the last of the semi-mythical Kings of Athens (r. ca 1089– 1068 BC). He was an ancient exemplar of patriotism and self-sacrifice. He was succeeded by his son Medon, who it is claimed ruled not as king but as the first Archon of Athens. He was said to have traced his descent to the sea-God Poseidon through his father Melanthus. The earliest version of the story of Codrus comes from the 4th oration ''Against Leocrates'' by Lycurgus of Athens. During the time of the Dorian Invasion of Peloponnesus (c. 1068 BC), the Dorians under Aletes, son of Hippotes, had consulted the Delphic Oracle, who prophesied that their invasion would succeed as long as the king was not harmed. The news of this prophecy, that only the death of an Athenian king would ensure the safety of Athens, quickly found its way to the ears of the king. Knowing Athens would fall to the foreign war tribe otherwise, after conquering most of Greece up to this point; for the lov ...
