National Heroes Of Azerbaijan
The National Hero of Azerbaijan ( az, Azərbaycan milli qəhrəmanı) is the highest national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law in 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. The title is awarded for outstanding services of national importance to Azerbaijan in defence and strengthening of the state system and creation of important national values. Independent Azerbaijan After the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1991, Azerbaijan and Armenia were engaged in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War in which several Azerbaijanis were awarded with the ''National Hero of Azerbaijan''. The president of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the head of state of Azerbaijan. The Constitution states that the president is the embodiment of executive power, commander-in-chief, "representative of Azerbaijan in home and foreign policies", and "shall have the right of immunity rom prosecution" The president rules through his executive office, the Presidential Administration, consisting of a group of secretaries and departmental ministers. Riad Ahmadov
Riad Fikrat ogly Ahmadov ( az, Riad Fikrət oğlu Əhmədov, December 20, 1956 – January 25, 1992) was awarded the decoration Hero of Azerbaijan for his part in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Riad Ahmadov was a KGB-trained military officer who led a Special Intelligence unit in the Nagorno-Karabakh battles. Announced as missing in action in the Azeri Dashalty Operation on January 25, 1992 and he was awarded National Hero of Azerbaijan by decree of the President of Azerbaijan Republic No. 833 of June 7, 1992. Eldar Mammadov
Eldar Harun ogly Mammadov ( az, Eldar Harun oğlu Məmmədov; January 10, 1968 in Baku – February 24, 1993 in Qasapet) was an Azerbaijani military figure. He was awarded the decoration Hero of Azerbaijan for his part in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Education After completing school No. 189 in Baku, Eldar Mammadov attended the Jamshid Nakhichevanski Military Lyceum in 1985–1989. Allahverdi Teymur oglu Baghirov ( az, Allahverdi Teymur oğlu Bağırov; April 22, 1946 – June 14, 1992) was an Azerbaijani officer, former leader of Azerbaijani Popular Front Party, head coach of Qarabağ FK and National Hero of Azerbaijan. Sayavush Hasan oglu Hasanov ( az, Səyavuş Həsən oğlu Həsənov) (20 January 1964 – 25 June 1992) was an Azerbaijanian soldier and construction worker who received the National Hero of Azerbaijan award. He was born on 20 January 1964 in the Yengicə village, Sharur District of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. Biography Early life Azerbaijanian independence When voluntary defense battalions were established to protect Garabagh, Sayavush was one of the first ones to join. He fought in many regions of Azerbaijan—Gazakh, Gedebey, Goranboy, Shusha—and performed all the assigned tasks adequately. Mirasgar Mirabdulla oglu Seyidov ( az, Mirəsgər Mirabdulla oğlu Seyidov) (6 February 1970 – 14 June 1992) - National Hero of Azerbaijan was born on February 6, 1970, in the Qaraxanbəyli village of the Nakhchivan city of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. Life Mirasgar Seyidov worked in his own village after finishing secondary school in 1987. He returned to Nakhchivan after being dismissed from the Soviet Army in 1990. In Battles The First Nagorno-Karabakh War did not pass by Nakhchivan either. Armenian forces started attacking villages of Nakhchivan constantly. But all the attacks were prevented by the voluntary self-defense groups and Mirasgar Seyidov was one of them who voluntarily enlisted in the self-defense battalion of Yuxarı Buzqov village.
