Croke Rovers GAA is a juvenile Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the North West of County Cork, Ireland. The club competes in Duhallow competitions. The club was formed from an amalgamation of players from Kilbrin and Castlemagner clubs and is named after Dr. Thomas Croke, the first patron of the GAA, who was born in Kilbrin and who Croke Park is named after. Duhallow GAA
Duhallow GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division in the barony of Duhallow, County Cork, Ireland. This barony is situated in the northwest region of the county, and includes towns such as Kanturk, Millstreet, and Newmarket. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. In addition, the division selects football and hurling teams from the adult teams playing at junior level or county intermediate level, and these then compete for the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship. Since hurling is the weaker sport in the division, a divisional team has also participated in the Cork Minor Hurling Championship and Cork Under-21 Hurling Championship. Kilbrin GAA
Kilbrin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Kilbrin in the north-west of County Cork, Ireland which forms part of the parish of Ballyclough and Kilbrin. The club plays both Gaelic Football and Hurling and is affiliated with Duhallow GAA. The club competes in the Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship and the Duhallow Junior B Football Championship. At under age level, an amalgamation of Kilbrin and Castlemagner as Croke Rovers has addressed an issue as neither club would have been able to field an underage team on their own. Castlemagner GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Castlemagner in the north-west of County Cork, Ireland. Founded in 1900, the club plays both hurling and football and is affiliated with Duhallow GAA. The club currently competes in the Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship and the Duhallow Junior A Football Championship. At under age level, the Castlemagner club amalgamates with Kilbrin as Croke Rovers - as neither club have been able to field an underage team on their own. William Egan (hurler)
William Egan (born 16 June 1990) is an Irish hurler who plays for Duhallow Junior Championship club Kilbrin. He currently plays as a centre-back, but can also be deployed as a wing-back. Egan is a former member of the Cork senior hurling team. Playing career Club Egan plays his club hurling and Gaelic football with Kilbrin and has enjoyed some success. As a member of the club's hurling team he has won numerous junior championship and under-21 championship medals at divisional level. In 2010 Egan won a junior "B" football championship medal with the club following a one-point defeat of Charleville. University During his tenure at University College Cork, Egan played a key role for the university's various hurling teams.
