Croatian Airplay Radio Chart
The Top lista are the official music charts in Croatia and are gathered and published by ''Hrvatska Diskografska Udruga'' - ''HDU'' (Croatian Phonographic Association). Top lista is the provider of weekly single and album charts, as well as some other chart formats. Dissemination of the charts is conducted by various media outlets such as Croatian Radiotelevision and RTL Televizija. Furthermore, ''Top lista'' also runs a dedicated website providing chart-related news and access to most of the charts. History The Croatian Phonographic Association was founded in June 1995. During the 90's they only issued certifications based on sold albums. Their first chart wouldn't be published until January 2006 when the first issue of the Top of the Shops albums chart was announced. Seven years later, in January 2013 the first issue of the HR Top 40 airplay based singles chart was published. ''Hrvatska radiotelevizija'' (abbr. HRT), or Croatian Radiotelevision, is Croatia's public broadcasting company. It operates several radio and television channels, over a domestic transmitter network as well as satellite. HRT is divided into three joint companies – Croatian Radio (), Croatian Television () and Music Production (), which includes three orchestras (Symphony, Jazz and Tamburitza) and a choir. RTL (Croatian TV Channel)
RTL (previously known as RTL Televizija) is a Croatian free-to-air television network founded on 30 April 2004. It was owned by the RTL Group from 2004 to 2022. Since 1 June 2022, it is owned by the CME Group. The logo consisted of three primary colours: Red, Yellow, and Blue. This is the second commercial television network in Croatia that has a national concession, following Nova TV. On 15 May 2014, RTL Group announced that Henning Tewes, Managing Director of news provider Enex, would be appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RTL Hrvatska as of 1 July 2014. Tewes succeeds Johannes Züll, who left the RTL Group to become president and CEO of Studio Hamburg. The HR Top 40 are the main Croatian domestic singles airplay chart, issued weekly by the Croatian Music Institute (Institut Hrvatske Glazbe) and the Croatian Phonographic Association (Hrvatska Diskografska Udruga) through Top lista. The charts are a record of the most played domestic songs in various genres in Croatia. HR Top 40 became the official Croatian airplay chart in December 2012. History The chart launched on 24 January 2013 with the data collected from the 14th of January to the 20th of January being published in the first issue of the chart. Originally, the data from 80 radio stations was collected to form a list of the 40 most played domestic songs in Croatia. The airplay chart contained data generated by the Playkontrol system according to any song played during the period starting the previous Monday at time 00:00:00 and ending Sunday night at 23:59:59.
