Cristina Martínez (gymnast)
Cristina Martínez Vaquero is a retired Spanish rhythmic gymnast. As part of the national senior group she won European and World Championships medals. Biography In 1992, she was invited by Emilia Boneva to join the national rhythmic gymnastics team of Spain as part of the group. That year they won silver in a tournament in Karlsruhe, and later they were invited to give an exhibition at one in Corbeil-Essonnes. In June, with new exercises, she was a substitute at the European Championships in Stuttgart, where Spain shared the gold medal in the All-Around with the Russian team, in addition to winning another gold in the 3 balls and 3 ropes final and bronze in 6 ribbons. Cristina did not compete in the 1992 Olympic Games because rhythmic gymnastics was an individual-only sport at the Olympics at that time, although she participated with the rest of her teammates in the opening ceremony, leading the parade of participating nations. María Fernández Ostolaza
María Fernández Ostolaza (born 14 July 1967) is retired Spanish rhythmic gymnast and coach. As a gymnast she's a European bronze medalist, as a trainer she led the group to international success. Biography Her first club was the Club Deportivo Colegio El Molino from 1976 to 1984. From 1985 to 1986, she trained at Club Moscardó. Her main coach was Aurora Fernández del Valle. In 1979 she was 8th overall in the 2nd category in the Spanish Individual Championship held in Madrid. In 1981 she took 6th in the individual All-Around of the 2nd category at nationals in Pamplona. That same year she joined the national rhythmic gymnastics team, becoming its captain from 1984 until her retirement. There she trained at the Moscardó Gymnasium in Madrid under the orders of Emilia Boneva and the group coach, Ana Roncero. Bárbara Plaza
Bárbara Plaza Hernández (26 October 1976 – 24 August 2003) was a former Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She was a World and European medalist. Biography She started rhythmic gymnastics in 1985 when she was 8 years old, joining the Atzar Club in Valencia. In 1990 she was third in the senior category of the Spanish Championships held in Palencia. In 1991 she was incorporated into the national team, participating in the Junior European Championships in Lisbon where she won team bronze along Carolina Borrell, Rosabel Espinosa and the substitute Peligros Piñero. In November 1991, as a senior individual, he won team gold and silver in the All-Around at the IV Ibero-American Gymnastics Games in Curitiba. The Bilbao Exhibition Centre (commonly abbreviated as BEC) is an exhibition centre in Barakaldo, Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country, Spain.
