Crawford () is a subzone within the planning area of Kallang, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Its perimeter is made up of Rochor River and Rochor Canal in the north; Crawford Street, Nicoll Highway, Kallang Basin and Marina Channel in the east; East Coast Parkway (ECP) in the south; as well as Ophir Road, Beach Road and Jalan Sultan in the west. As Crawford is located directly adjacent to the Downtown Core, many commercial developments have since sprung up in this area. North Bridge Road
North Bridge Road () is a one-way road in Singapore, running north of the Singapore River. It starts at the junction with Crawford Street in Kallang, on the western bank of the Rochor River, and continues in a southwest direction before ending at Elgin Bridge. The stretch south of the Singapore River after Elgin Bridge is called South Bridge Road. En route, North Bridge Road travels through the planning areas of Kallang, Rochor and the Downtown Core. North Bridge Road is one of the oldest roads in Singapore and was outlined in the Jackson Plan. North Bridge Road was constructed by GD Coleman between 1833 and 1835, and built by convict labour. Marina Promenade is a park in Singapore that links Kallang Riverside Park in the north to Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay in the south. The entire park is situated on the western bank of the Kallang Basin and Marina Channel, along Republic Avenue and Republic Boulevard. Kallang Riverside Park
Kallang Riverside Park () is a riverine park in Kallang, Singapore. It sits on the confluence of the Kallang River and Rochor River, north of the Kallang Basin. Elaboration The 7-hectare park is a popular water sports site in Singapore. A stretch of beach within the park is a popular location for picnics. Facilities for exercising include fitness equipment and jogging-cum-cycling tracks. The park is a 5-minute walk from Lavender MRT station, a 10-minute walk from Kallang MRT station, and a 15-minute walk from either Stadium MRT station or Nicoll Highway MRT station. Masjid Hajjah Fatimah
The Hajjah Fatimah Mosque (; Jawi: ; ) is a mosque located along Beach Road in the Kampong Glam district within the Kallang Planning Area in Singapore. The mosque was designed in a mix of Islamic and European architectural styles, and completed in 1846. The mosque is named after an aristocratic Malay lady, Hajjah Fatimah, who commissioned its construction. History The building of the mosque was initiated by Hajjah Fatimah, who was originally from a wealthy Malaccan family. She married a Bugis prince from Celebes who ran a trading post in Singapore. In the late 1830s, her house was attacked twice, but she was away for the second one, and to express her gratitude for her safety, she instructed the building of a mosque on the site where the house once stood. The Concourse
The Concourse () is a post-modern high-rise commercial and residential building on Beach Road Kallang, Singapore opposite Nicoll Highway MRT station. The Concourse is located in Singapore's "Golden Mile", which refers to the strip of land between Nicoll Highway and Beach Road. It was planned by the Singapore Government as a high-rise spine fronting Kallang Basin. The area used to be occupied by squatters and small marine industries. The Concourse's site was acquired in competition in the Urban Redevelopment Authority's 8th Sales of Sites programme in 1979. A project, developed by Cheong Eak Chong's Hong Fok Corporation, commenced in 1981 as the Hong Fok Centre but construction stopped when Singapore's economy was hit by a recession in the mid-1980s.
