Marina Promenade, Singapore
Marina Promenade is a park in Singapore that links Kallang Riverside Park in the north to Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay in the south. The entire park is situated on the western bank of the Kallang Basin and Marina Channel, along Republic Avenue and Republic Boulevard. Notable landmarks along the park include the Merdeka Bridge, the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, the Singapore Flyer and the Helix Bridge. Marina Promenade extends across two planning areas in the Central Region of Singapore: Kallang and Downtown Core. Marina Promenade provides excellent scenery of the Singapore skyline, the Singapore Sports Hub as well as the Marina Bay Sands. Nicoll Highway MRT Station
Nicoll Highway MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Circle MRT line, Circle Line (CCL) in Singapore. Located in the Downtown Core underneath Republic Avenue near the Kallang River, the station serves commercial and residential developments along Nicoll Highway, such as the Golden Mile Complex and The Concourse. The station is operated by SMRT Trains. First announced as part of the Marina MRT line in 1999, the station was incorporated into Stage 1 of the CCL in 2001. During the construction, the tunnels linking to the original station site Nicoll Highway collapse, caved in along with the highway on 20 April 2004, killing four people. Promenade MRT Station
Promenade MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the Downtown (DTL) and Circle (CCL) lines in Downtown Core, Singapore. Located underneath Temasek Avenue and adjacent to Millenia Tower, the station serves several key attractions and locations such as Suntec City and the Marina Promenade, which the station is named after. The station is at the junction of the Dhoby Ghaut and Marina Bay branches of the CCL. The station was first announced as Milennia MRT station in 1999 and was part of the Marina Line, which later became CCL Stage 1. It was later announced in 2005 that the CCL would branch off from this station to serve Chinatown, which eventually became DTL Stage 1 in 2007. Helix Bridge
The Helix Bridge, officially The Helix, and previously known as the Double Helix Bridge, is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bay area in Singapore. It was officially opened on 24 April 2010; however, only half was opened due to ongoing construction at the Marina Bay Sands. The bridge was fully opened on 18 July. Architecture The design consortium is an international team comprising Australian architects the Cox Architecture and engineers Arup, and Singapore based Architects 61. Canopies (made of fritted-glass and perforated steel mesh) are incorporated along parts of the inner spiral to provide shade for pedestrians. Kallang Riverside Park
Kallang Riverside Park () is a riverine park in Kallang, Singapore. It sits on the confluence of the Kallang River and Rochor River, north of the Kallang Basin. Elaboration The 7-hectare park is a popular water sports site in Singapore. A stretch of beach within the park is a popular location for picnics. Facilities for exercising include fitness equipment and jogging-cum-cycling tracks. The park is a 5-minute walk from Lavender MRT station, a 10-minute walk from Kallang MRT station, and a 15-minute walk from either Stadium MRT station or Nicoll Highway MRT station.
