Golden Mile Complex
Golden Mile Complex () is a high-rise commercial and residential building on Beach Road in Kallang, Singapore, within walking distance to Nicoll Highway MRT station. The building was formerly known as Woh Hup Complex. The complex contains 411 shops and 500 parking spaces. The building is largely an ethnic enclave for the Thai population in Singapore. History In 1966, the Urban Renewal Department of the Housing and Development Board was formed to facilitate greater flexibility and autonomy in comprehensive redevelopment of Singapore's Central Area. Beach Road is a road located within the planning areas of Kallang, Rochor and the Downtown Core in Singapore. The road starts at its junction with Crawford Street in Kallang in the north, runs in a generally southerly direction, enters the Downtown Core at its junction with Ophir Road, and ends at its junction with Stamford Road and St. Andrew's Road to the south. As its name implies, Beach Road used to run along Singapore's southern coast, before land reclamation took place in the Kallang Basin area. Dr. Ivan Png Paak Liang () is a Singaporean economist and academic. He is a Distinguished Professor in the School of Business and Department of Economics at the National University of Singapore.
