Crash Of Light
''Crash of Light'' is a live album by Norwegian new wave band Fra Lippo Lippi. It was originally prepared for the band's revived record label Uniton Records, but was never released in Norway due to legal problems with their distributor. The album was eventually released on LP, CD and cassette in the Philippines by OctoArts International in 1990. This live recording is currently available as part of Rune Arkiv's re-release of the band's 1985 album '' Songs''. Per Øystein Sørensen
Per Øystein Sørensen (born December 13, 1961) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter, best known as the vocalist of the new wave band Fra Lippo Lippi. Biography Sørensen joined Fra Lippo Lippi in 1982 as the new vocalist in time for their second LP, ''Small Mercies''. The band's third album '' Songs'' contained the hit single " Shouldn't Have to Be Like That", a double A-side with "The Distance Between Us". Fra Lippo Lippi ceased recording in the early '90s. However, in 2000, Fra Lippo Lippi performed again in the Philippines, where the band had a number of major successes during the '80s, having also performed there to a big audience in 1988. Aside from Fra Lippo Lippi, Sørensen has also worked with Trine Rein. In 2009, Sørensen launched his official Myspace profile, featuring songs from Fra Lippo Lippi and his solo works. Rune Kristoffersen
Rune Kristoffersen (born 22 September 1957) is a Norwegian musician, best known for being the founder and bassist of the new wave band Fra Lippo Lippi. Background Rune Kristoffersen grew up in Nesodden and was founder member of Norwegian pop outfit Fra Lippo Lippi, playing bass, guitar and keyboards as well as providing lead vocals on their debut album '' In Silence'' and being the band's main songwriter. In the early 1980s, he also worked for the band's record label Uniton Records. Fra Lippo Lippi were signed to Virgin Records in 1986 and also had an album ('' Light and Shade'') produced by Walter Becker from Steely Dan. ''Songs'' is the third studio album by Norwegian new wave band Fra Lippo Lippi. Originally released in 1985 by the band's own label, Easter Productions, ''Songs'' received favorable reviews and sold around 5,000 copies without any means of promotion. Later that year, Virgin Records signed the band to a worldwide contract. The album was reissued and released internationally in 1986 with some songs re-recorded or remixed and the addition of the song "Everytime I See You". "Shouldn't Have to Be Like That", and " Come Summer" were released as singles in Europe, while "Everytime I See You" and "The Distance Between Us" became popular hits in the Philippines. This version of the album also sold 20,000 copies in Norway. The sleeve photography by Reinhard Wolf shows the medieval alcazar of Molina de Aragon in Spain. Rune Grammofon is a Norwegian record label founded in 1998 by Rune Kristoffersen. Rune Grammofon's reputation for lovingly issued experimental electronic music, jazz, and improvised music by Norwegian artists has grown over the years with its artists being featured heavily in magazines such as ''The Wire'' and ''Plan B''. Fra Lippo Lippi (band)
Fra Lippo Lippi is a Norwegian band. They had several hits in the 1980s, such as "Shouldn't Have to Be Like That", "Everytime I See You" and " Light and Shade", and recorded a new album as late as 2002. The band name is derived from Robert Browning's poem about the Renaissance painter Filippo Lippi. History Fra Lippo Lippi was founded in Nesodden, Norway in 1980 by Rune Kristoffersen (bass, guitar, keyboards), Morten Sjøberg (drums, keyboards) and Bjørn Sorknes (bass, keyboards). They released a 4-track instrumental EP that year, titled ''Tap Dance for Scientists''. Two years prior, the group was writing and rehearsing under the name Genetic Control. In 1981, Sorknes left as the band was writing songs for their debut album.
