Corvus Aircraft
Corvus Hungary LLC is an aircraft manufacturer that was founded in 2011 to produce the Corvus Fusion aircraft. History Started in 2004, originally named Corvus Aircraft Ltd and based in Ballószög, Hungary, the company consisted of five employees including Managing Director Tamás Gecse and Chief Engineer Andras Voloscsuk. The company developed the Corvus Corone Mk 1 aircraft. Corvus Aircraft began development of the ultralight Corvus Corone MK II in 2006 and had its first company presence at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA. Corvus Aircraft debuted its Corvus Phantom aircraft in 2007. Corvus Aircraft also signed a contract with Red Bull for developing a new airplane, the Corvus Racer 540, for Péter Besenyei designed especially for air racing. Péter Besenyei
Péter Besenyei (born 1956) is a Hungarian aerobatics pilot and world champion air racer. Biography He was born on 8 June 1956 in Körmend, Hungary. He lived near the airport of Budapest and became interested in flying when he was a child. From watching 1962 World Aerobatic Championships he decided to become a pilot. At 15 years of age he flew a glider for the first time. In 1976 Péter entered his first flying competition by piloting a glider and showed his talent, finishing in second place. Besenyei became an aerobatics pilot and won several titles in national and international championships. He won his first gold medal in 1982 at the Austrian National Championships. His specialty is free-style aerobatics. He invented a number of original snap rolls and, in 1984, the "knife-edge spin". Microlight
Ultralight aviation (called microlight aviation in some countries) is the flying of lightweight, 1- or 2-seat fixed-wing aircraft. Some countries differentiate between weight-shift control and conventional three-axis control aircraft with ailerons, elevator and rudder, calling the former "microlight" and the latter "ultralight". Aerobatic
Aerobatics is the practice of flying maneuvers involving aircraft attitudes that are not used in conventional passenger-carrying flights. The term is a portmanteau of "aerial" and "acrobatics". Aerobatics are performed in aeroplanes and gliders for training, recreation, entertainment, and sport. Corvus Racer 540
The Corvus Racer 540 is a single-seat, low wing, high performance aerobatic aircraft produced by Corvus Aircraft Ltd in Hungary. Design and development The Corvus Racer 540 design was started in 2007 when Corvus Aircraft signed a contract with Red Bull to develop a new airplane for Péter Besenyei, designed especially for air racing. It was designed by Andras Voloscsuk and the Hungarian University of Aviation. After limited success improving the power output of the existing engine, Besenyei decided to focus on the airframe to reduce drag and improve aerodynamic efficiency.
