The Copa Federación was a Peruvian football championship to be contested by the winners of Primera División and the Copa Inca. History Due to the 2011 Copa América, at the end of the 2011 Torneo Descentralizado's first round, the Torneo Intermedio (Copa Inca) was played, with the participation of the 16 teams of the Primera División, 5 teams of the Segunda División, and 14 teams of the Copa Perú. The winners were José Gálvez and qualified for the 2012 Copa Federación against the 2011 Torneo Descentralizado champion. José Gálvez FBC
José Gálvez FBC is a Peruvian football club based in Chimbote, Ancash. The club was founded in 1951 under the name Manuel Rivera after the famous Chimbote born footballer Manuel Rivera. The club was forced to change its name because the FPF did not allow clubs to be named after living people. Then on 11 November 1963 the club decided the new name would be José Gálvez FBC. More recently the club played in the Peruvian Second Division and finished as champions in 2011. Thus they were promoted back to the Torneo Descentralizado in the 2012 season only to be relegated on the 2013 and become the Peruvian team with the most relegations from the Peruvian First Division. The Torneo del Inca was a football competition in Peru played by the football clubs of the Primera División. It was founded in 2011 under the name Torneo Intermedio and was played as a domestic football cup competition between clubs of the first and second division in addition to amateur clubs from smaller leagues that compete in the Copa Perú. It was on hiatus until 2014 when it was reorganized under the name Torneo del Inca and played only between first division teams; its format was modified to feature a group stage and a final. 2011 Copa América
The 2011 Campeonato Sudamericano Copa América, better known as the 2011 Copa América or the Copa América 2011 Argentina, was the 43rd edition of the Copa América, the main international football tournament for national teams in South America. The competition was organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body, and was held in Argentina from 1 to 24 July. The draw for the tournament was held in La Plata on 11 November 2010. 2011 Torneo Descentralizado
The 2011 Torneo Descentralizado de Fútbol Profesional (known as the 2011 Copa Movistar for sponsorship reasons) was the ninety-fifth season of Association Peruvian football. A total of 16 teams competed in the tournament, with Universidad de San Martín as the defending champion. The Torneo Descentralizado began on 12 February and concluded on 14 December with the victory of Juan Aurich over Alianza Lima in the penalty kicks of the final Play-off, giving Juan Aurich its debut Peruvian title. Competition modus The sixteen teams played a round-robin home-and-away round for a total of 30 matches each. The teams that finish in first and second place played in the Play-off to determine the season champion. The teams that place fifteenth and sixteenth were relegated. Copa Perú
The Copa Perú is a football tournament in Peru. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. It guarantees its winner promotion to the professional Liga 2. History In 1966, the First Division was named '' Descentralizado''; teams from outside the capital of Lima were allowed to participate in the professional first division. The following year, the Copa Perú began, in which all non-professional teams in Peru were allowed to compete, with the winner to gain promotion to the First Division. Juan Aurich
Club Juan Aurich S. A., commonly known as Juan Aurich, is a professional football club based in Chiclayo, Peru. The original Juan Aurich club was founded in 1922, this incarnation however was founded in 2005; they play in the Torneo Descentralizado where they have been playing since attaining promotion when they won the 2007 Copa Perú. They play their home games at the Estadio Elías Aguirre. Although the current Juan Aurich has played for only a few years in the top-flight, three other football clubs named Juan Aurich have played in the Torneo Descentralizado. The first Juan Aurich was founded in 1922 and played in the first division between 1967 and 1983 and again between 1988 and 1991.
