José Gálvez FBC
José Gálvez FBC is a Peruvian football club based in Chimbote, Ancash. The club was founded in 1951 under the name Manuel Rivera after the famous Chimbote born footballer Manuel Rivera. The club was forced to change its name because the FPF did not allow clubs to be named after living people. Then on 11 November 1963 the club decided the new name would be José Gálvez FBC. More recently the club played in the Peruvian Second Division and finished as champions in 2011. Thus they were promoted back to the Torneo Descentralizado in the 2012 season only to be relegated on the 2013 and become the Peruvian team with the most relegations from the Peruvian First Division. Estadio Municipal Centenario Manuel Rivera Sánchez is a multi-purpose stadium in Chimbote, Peru. It was inaugurated on June 30, 2007 with a friendly game between the Peru U-17 national football team and the Colombia U-17 national football team. Peru lost 4–2. It hosts the home games of José Gálvez FBC. The stadium has a capacity of 32,000 people. It replaced Estadio Manuel Gómez Arellano. 1971 Torneo Descentralizado
The 1971 Torneo Descentralizado was the 55th season of the highest division of Peruvian football. The number of teams increased from 14 to 16 teams as four teams gained promotion. The last three teams were relegated from the first division. The national champion was Universitario. ADO, Octavio Espinosa and Porvenir Miraflores were relegated.
