The Stu Sells Living Waters Collingwood Classic, formerly the Stu Sells Cookstown Classic, and the CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc. is an annual curling tournament that was part of the World Curling Tour, the highest-level curling tour in the world. The event was introduced in 2012 and was held on the first weekend in November, at the Cookstown Curling Club in Cookstown, Ontario. The event was moved to the Collingwood Curling Club in Collingwood, Ontario in 2023. Originally just part of the Ontario Curling Tour, it was part of the World Curling Tour from 2014 to 2017. After a five-year pause, the event returned in 2022 as part of the Stu Sells series. Collingwood, Ontario
Collingwood is a town in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It is situated on Nottawasaga Bay at the southern point of Georgian Bay. Collingwood is well known as a tourist destination, for its skiing in the winter, and limestone caves along the Niagara Escarpment in the summer. History The land in the area was first inhabited by the Iroquoian-speaking Petun nation, which built a string of villages in the vicinity of the nearby Niagara Escarpment. They were driven from the region by the Iroquois in 1650 who withdrew from the region around 1700. European settlers and freed Black slaves arrived in the area in the 1840s, bringing with them their religion and culture. Adam Spencer (curler)
Adam Spencer, nicknamed "Crusher" (born July 11, 1972) is a Canadian curler from Guelph, Ontario. Career Juniors In 1992, Spencer skipped a team consisting of Greg Robinson, Jeff Robinson and Nolan Sims to a provincial junior title. This qualified the rink to represent Ontario at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. There, he led his Ontario rink to a 6-5 round robin record. This put them in a three-way tie for third place. They would go on to lose their tie breaker match against Saskatchewan's Scott Bitz. Men's After juniors, Spencer won a provincial Colts championship in 1994. Brent Ross (born September 30, 1970) is a Canadian curler from Harriston, Ontario. He currently plays third for Team Dayna Deruelle on the World Curling Tour. Career Early in his career, Ross won the Ontario Colts Championship in 1997. Ross skipped his own rink on the World Curling Tour until 2007, when he joined the Jake Higgs rink, playing third on the team for the 2007–08 season, and then throwing fourth rocks (with Higgs throwing third) until 2014. The team played in their first Grand Slam of Curling event at the 2010 Players' Championship, where they lost all of their games. Valentin Igor Fédéric Tanner (born 2 October 1992) is a Swiss curler. He currently plays lead for the Peter de Cruz team from Geneva. Career Tanner is the long-time lead for de Cruz. Peter Vincent de Cruz (born 4 January 1990) is a Swiss curler. He is an Olympic bronze medallist for Switzerland, having skipped his Swiss rink to a third place finish at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. While de Cruz is the skip of his team, he throws second stones. As a junior, De Cruz skipped the Swiss team at both the 2010 and 2011 World Junior Curling Championships. Viktor Erik Kjäll ( anglicized as Kjell; born 13 June 1985) is a Swedish curler originally from Karlstad. Curling career Viktor Kjäll made his World Championship debut at the 2007 Edmonton World Championships as the Second for Sweden's most successful male skip at that time, Peja Lindholm. They finished with a 6 – 5 record in a four-way tie for fourth place. Career Juniors Barry is a four-time New Brunswick junior champion, winning provincial championships between 2010 and 2013. Career As a junior, Casey played in Prince Edward Island as the third on the Brett Gallant junior men's team.
