Conrad N. Hilton
Conrad Nicholson Hilton (December 25, 1887 – January 3, 1979) was an American hotel magnate and politician who founded the Hilton Hotels chain. From 1912 to 1916, Hilton was a Republican representative in the first New Mexico Legislature, but became disillusioned with the "inside deals" of politics. In 1919, he purchased his first hotel, the Mobley Hotel in Cisco, Texas, for and subsequently capitalized on the oil boom. The rooms were rented out in eight-hour shifts. He continued to purchase and sell hotels, and eventually established the world's first international hotel chain. When he died in 1979, he left the bulk of his estate to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Quianu Robinson
Quianu Robinson (1852–1919) was a New Mexico, New Mexican politician who served as a Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the New Mexico House of Representatives representing the second district of New Mexico from 1916 to 1918. Early career Prior to his election, Robinson was a staunch political ally of Conrad Hilton, Conrad N. Hilton Sr., who had served in the New Mexico Legislature from 1912 to 1916, before retiring and endorsing Robinson in his own run. Robinson served only one term before he retired due to declining health, dying only one year later. Robinson was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) was a private for-profit art school in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
