Quianu Robinson
Quianu Robinson (1852-1919) was a New Mexican politician who served as a Republican member of the New Mexico House of Representatives representing the second district of New Mexico from 1916 to 1918. Early career Prior to his election, Robinson was a staunch political ally of Conrad N. Hilton Sr., who had served in the New Mexico Legislature from 1912 to 1916, before retiring and endorsing Robinson in his own run. Robinson served only one term before he retired due to declining health, dying only one year later. Robinson was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Other notable achievements include being the first to summit Robinson Peak in New Mexico, accompanied by Conrad Hilton. Conrad Hilton
Conrad Nicholson Hilton Sr. (December 25, 1887 – January 3, 1979) was an American businessman who founded the Hilton Hotels chain. From 1912 to 1916 Hilton was a Republican representative in the first New Mexico Legislature, but became disillusioned with the "inside deals" of politics. He purchased his first hotel in 1919 for $40,000, the Mobley Hotel in Cisco, Texas, which capitalized on the oil boom. The rooms were rented out in 8 hour shifts. He continued to buy and sell hotels and eventually established the world's first international hotel chain. When he died in 1979, he left the bulk of his estate to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Hastings House
Hastings () is a large seaside town and borough in East Sussex on the south coast of England, east to the county town of Lewes and south east of London. The town gives its name to the Battle of Hastings, which took place to the north-west at Senlac Hill in 1066. It later became one of the medieval Cinque Ports. In the 19th century, it was a popular seaside resort, as the railway allowed tourists and visitors to reach the town. Herbert James Hagerman
Herbert James Hagerman (December 15, 1871 – January 28, 1935) was an American attorney, was the 17th Governor of the New Mexico Territory from 1906 to 1907. Early life and education Hagerman was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to industrialist J. J. Hagerman. He worked at several low-level jobs in his father's businesses during his teen and college years, including his father's ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. He received his law degree from Cornell Law School in 1894, and became a member of the Kappa Alpha Society. After passing the bar, he practiced law in Colorado, where he had moved in order to be closer to his father's mining interests. Hagerman never married and had no children. Career In 1898, became Secretary to the United States Embassy in Russia, a position he held until 1901. Working closely with Ambassador Ethan A.
