Conor Garvey
Conor Gravey is an Irish Gaelic footballer who played in the 2010 All-Ireland Final. He operates at full-back. Career He was not allowed to play in the 2012 Ulster Senior Final because of a suspension. He was thought to have put a stamp on to Karl O'Connell in the Ulster Semi Final game with Monaghan. Down manager James McCartan Jnr confirmed it was not the stamp, but an instant of 'endangering an opposition player' that was noticed in video evidence. Garevy had an ankle injury so he could only get one substitute appearance in the 2013 League. He then worked as a mechanic after an injury that left him missing all of the 2013 All Ireland Championship. Gaelic Football
Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag. 2012 Ulster Senior Football Championship
The 2012 Ulster Senior Football Championship was the 124th installment of the annual Ulster Senior Football Championship held under the auspices of the Ulster GAA. It was won by Donegal who defeated Down in the final to retain the title they won the previous year. The winning Donegal team received the Anglo-Celt Cup, and automatically advanced to the quarter-final stage of the 2012 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. James McCartan Jnr
James McCartan is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player who played at senior level for the Down county team between 1990 and 2000. McCartan was part of the Down team that won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in 1991 and 1994. McCartan also won two Ulster Senior Football Championships with the county. At underage level McCartan won Ulster Minor and All-Ireland Minor Football Championship medals. He also won two All Star awards during his career. McCartan usually played as a corner forward. Mayobridge Gaelic Athletic Association, also called Mayobridge Gaelic Athletic Club or Saint Patrick's Gaelic Athletic Social Club, is a Gaelic football and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Mayobridge, County Down, Northern Ireland.
