"Computer Love" (German version: "Computerliebe") is a song by the German electronic band Kraftwerk. It was released in 1981 on their eighth studio album, ''Computer World'' (1981), and as a single in the same year. In the UK, it was released with the B-side "The Model". Originally it peaked at number 36 in July before it was re-released on 7 December 1981 with "The Model" promoted to a double A-side, after which it went on to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart. The song was re-arranged and re-recorded for the band's 1991 studio album '' The Mix''. The melody of "Computer Love" was later sampled in Coldplay's " Talk", taken from their third album '' X&Y'' (2005). Prior to release, lead singer Chris Martin asked Kraftwerk for approval. The Mix (Kraftwerk Album)
''The Mix'' is the tenth studio album by the German electronic music band Kraftwerk. It was released on 10 June 1991 by Kling Klang Studio, Kling Klang and EMI in Europe and by Elektra Records in North America. It features entirely re-arranged and re-recorded versions of a selection of songs which had originally appeared on Kraftwerk's albums ''Autobahn (album), Autobahn'' (1974) through ''Electric Café'' (1986). Some of the songs, such as "The Robots" and "Radioactivity", feature new additional melodies and/or lyrics. Background In 1990, Kraftwerk had made a return to the stage, following a nine-year hiatus from touring. Ralf Hütter stated in interviews that he regarded ''The Mix'' as a type of "live" album, as it captured the results of the band's continual digital improvisations in their Kling Klang Studio. Karl Bartos
Karl Bartos (born 31 May 1952) is a German musician and composer known for his contributions to the electronic band Kraftwerk. Career Karlheinz Bartos was born on 31 May 1952 in Marktschellenberg, Germany, named after his grandfathers Karl and Heinz. He was the drummer in a college band called The Jokers (later The Jolly Jokers in 1975) as Carlos Bartos, around 1965 to 1975. Between 1975 and 1990, he was, along with Wolfgang Flür, a member of the electronic music band Kraftwerk. This lineup of the group remains the most stable and productive yet assembled.
