The Algorithm
The Algorithm is the musical project of French musician Rémi Gallego (born 7 October 1989) from Perpignan. His style is characterised by an unusual combination of electronic dance music with progressive metal. Gallego chose the name The Algorithm to highlight the music's complex and electronic nature. History Early years (2009–2010) After the demise of his band Dying Breath, Rémi Gallego decided in 2009 to look for potential members for a band that focused on mathcore, which came as an inspiration from The Dillinger Escape Plan. After a futile search for new members, with the help of his guitar and a DAW, Gallego began to produce his own music. In December 2009 and July 2010, he published the two demos "The Doppler Effect" and "CRITICAL.ERROR", which were / released via his own website for free download. FiXT
FiXT (pronounced "fixed") is an American independent media company with several divisions including a record label, an online music store, and a film/TV/video game music licensing arm. FiXT was founded and is owned by Klayton, the sole member of the electronic rock project Celldweller. History FiXT started in 2006 as an outgrowth of Esion Media, the name under which Klayton published his earliest Celldweller material. After years of trouble with distributors over how to properly handle Celldweller's unique brand of music, Klayton decided to take the same approach to record labels as he did with his music and handle the matter himself. Some of the first releases on FiXT were remix compilations for Celldweller tracks that were called the Take It & Break It series. Brute Force (album)
''Brute Force'' is the third studio album by French musical project the Algorithm. The album was released on 1 April 2016 through FiXT. It is the project's first studio release with the label. Promotion and release Promotional video single "Floating Point" was announced through ''Metal Hammer'' on 30 January 2016 with a remix released on the project's official blog the following month. On 9 March 2016, ''Metal Underground'' premiered the music video for "Pointers" along with the track listing for the album. Commenting on the release, Gallego stated the track was "one of my favorite ongsso far". The same day, the album was made available for pre-order on the project's website with various bundle options. Some bundles included a MIDI version of the album on a floppy disk. ''Data Renaissance'' is the fifth studio album by French musical project the Algorithm. It was released on 3 June 2022 through FiXT. Critical reception Dom Lawson from Blabbermouth.net gave the album 7.5 out of 10 and said: "There are certainly moments of electronic purity here, but The Algorithm's intuitive subversive streak is always lurking in the background. Even the jittery, insistent beats of "Multithreading" are gradually undermined by thick, viscous bass ooze and flashes of ghostly humanity.
