Coleman Alexander Young II (born October 18, 1982) is a former Democratic member of the Michigan Senate, who represented the 1st district, which includes the municipalities of Ecorse, Gibraltar, River Rouge, Riverview, Trenton, Woodhaven, Wyandotte and a portion of Detroit. He served as the vice chair of the Local Government and Elections Committee, General Government Appropriations Subcommittee, Judiciary Appropriations Subcommittee, Licensing And Regulatory Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee and Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee. JoAnn Watson (April 19, 1951 – July 10, 2023) was an American pastor, media personality and was a Detroit city councilor for ten years. She was an on-air personality for 910 AM Superstation/ WFDF and Comcast Channel 91 WHPR as the host of ''Wake Up Detroit.'' John Conyers

Michigan's 13th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Wayne County, Michigan. It is currently represented by Democrat Shri Thanedar. The district includes portions of Detroit and some of its suburbs, and it was the only congressional district in Michigan to be contained within a single county in the 2012 redistricting. District boundaries were redrawn in 1993 and 2003 due to reapportionment following the censuses of 1990 and 2000. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census.
