Coldharbourstores
Coldharbourstores are a British experimental ambient pop band. History Original members David Read and Michael McCabe formed Coldharbourstores in 1998 with original singer Daniel Bowling and drummer Samuel R. Laws. The band, which now includes singer Lucy Castro and drummer Liam Greany, has released singles, albums and collaborative works across various labels including Rocketgirl, Enraptured and Fire Records. Their first album, ''More Than The Other'', was released on the Rocketgirl label in 2002. They have worked with musicians and producers such as Graham Sutton, Bark Psychosis, Fuxa and American author Scott Heim. Rocket Girl is a London-based independent record label. It has released records by Robin Guthrie, Pieter Nooten, God Is an Astronaut, Ulrich Schnauss, A Place to Bury Strangers, Bell Gardens among others, including many artists associated with ambient music. History Before launching Rocket Girl in 1997, Vinita Joshi had been actively involved in running both Cheree Records and Ché Trading, releasing tracks by artists such as The Telescopes, The Tindersticks, Bark Psychosis and Disco Inferno. Graham Sutton (musician)
Graham Sutton (born 1972) is an English musician and record producer based in Hackney, UK. He is best known as the leader and key figure of seminal post-rock band Bark Psychosis, as well as being a producer for alternative rock bands since the late 1990s. Personal projects Bark Psychosis Sutton first came to attention as the main figure in the band Bark Psychosis in which he played guitar, sampler and assorted keyboards as well as handling lead vocals where necessary. Founded in 1986, Bark Psychosis developed a growing reputation in avant-garde rock circles culminating in the 21-minute ''Scum'' single in 1992 and the album '' Hex'' in 1994, following which the group split up. Bark Psychosis
Bark Psychosis are an English post-rock band/musical project from east London formed in 1986. They were one of the bands that Simon Reynolds cited when coining "post-rock" as a musical style in 1994, and are thus considered one of the key bands defining the genre. In its original form, the group was a quartet of Graham Sutton, Daniel Gish, John Ling and Mark Simnett. This line-up (with contributions from other passing members) recorded most of the early EPs and the seminal 1994 album '' Hex''. Waywords And Meansigns Opendoor Edition
The ''Waywords and Meansigns Opendoor Edition'' debuted in 2017 as a part of the Waywords and Meansigns project setting James Joyce's ''Finnegans Wake'' to music. The Opendoor Edition features over 100 artists and musicians performing unabridged passages of ''Finnegans Wake.'' An open edition, participants are invited to contribute to the Opendoor Edition on an ongoing basis. The edition first premiered May 4, 2017. The genres represented in the Waywords and Meansigns Opendoor Edition are quite diverse, ranging from metal and industrial to folk and jazz. Many of the tracks are experimental; some recordings adhere to fairly traditional song formats while others offer audiobook-like readings with ambient accompaniment. Fire Records was an American independent record label, set up in 1959 by Bobby Robinson. Amongst others, it released records by Lightnin' Hopkins, Elmore James, Buster Brown and Arthur Crudup. At one point it was thought Fire had issued the last commercial 78rpm disc in the United States. Although this has been dis-proven, the label is still known for their late-issue 78s. Scott Heim (born 1966) is an American novelist from Hutchinson, Kansas, currently living in Massachusetts. Heim's first novel, ''Mysterious Skin'', was published in 1995. Biography Scott Heim was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, in 1966. He attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, earning a B.A. in English and Art History in 1989 and an M.A. in English Literature in 1991. He attended the M.F.A. program in Writing at Columbia University, where he wrote stories that evolved into his first novel, ''Mysterious Skin''.
