Cluster Farm
A cluster farm ( no, klyngetun) is a traditional western Norway, Norwegian farm settlement with multiple individual farms and with the houses of the various farms located close together, more or less irregularly in relation to each other, so that it is difficult to see any regular pattern. Typical examples of cluster farms include Havrå on the island of Osterøy (island), Osterøy, Agatunet in the Hardanger district, Henjum in Hermansverk, Tyssedalen in the municipality of Fjaler, Osmundnes in the municipality of Gloppen, Sjønstå in the municipality of Fauske, and remaining parts of Larsbakken. Cluster farms originated through repeated division of farms. The division was to be made fairly, and so every single field plot was therefore divided. Sjønstå
Sjønstå is a settlement in Norway and was officially a village during a brief time when Sulitjelma Mines carried out activity in the area, 1890 to 1956. Before this time, Sjønstå comprised the Sjønstå farm, which is located on '' Øvervatnet'' (Upper Lake) in the municipality of Fauske in Nordland county. The Sjønstå River empties into the lake at Sjønstå. Where it enters the lake, there is a sandy beach on the west side of the river's mouth. There are also natural terraces from moraine deposits. The old farm is located on the sandy beach and the terraces were used for tilled fields and meadows. The Sjønstå farm was given protected status in 2006 by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage. It represents a special kind of farm known as a cluster farm ( no, klyngetun); these were typical in Nordland county before 1900 and few of them have been preserved. Jørn Holme
Jørn Holme (born 16 August 1959) is a Norwegian judge and civil servant. He grew up at Nordberg, and originally wanted to become a priest. He was active in the Norwegian Christian Student Association while studying. He graduated with the cand.jur. degree from the University of Oslo in 1986. He left a job as research assistant there to do his compulsory military service, then work in the police. In 1988 he was hired as a police inspector for Senja, and from 1990 to 1991 he was an acting judge at Trondenes and Oslo District Courts. From 1991 to 2001 he was a public prosecutor in the Norwegian National Authority for the Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime (Økokrim). His work mainly concerned environmental crime. He edited and wrote books during this period, and launched the periodical ''Miljøkrim''. Halvor Vreim
Halvor Vreim (12 August 1894 – 6 February 1966) was a Norwegian architect who contributed to the documentation, conservation and restoration of old wooden buildings. Personal life Vreim was born in Bø, Telemark to farmer Gunnar Helgeson Vreim and Anne Jonsdotter Li. In 1930 he married Anna Bonli. Career Vreim started his career as a carpenter, and also studied theoretical and historical aspects of the profession. He was appointed at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History from 1920, and at the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage from 1937 to 1964. He was approved as architect, and a member of the Association of Norwegian Architects from 1936. His works include ''Norwegian Decorative Art To-day'' from 1937, ''Norsk trearkitektur'' from 1939, and ''Laftehus'' from 1940. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1963. Fauske
or is a municipality located in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Salten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Fauske. Some of the villages in Fauske include Nystad, Venset, Straumsnes, and Sulitjelma. The municipality borders Sweden in the east and the municipalities of Sørfold to the north, Bodø to the west, and Saltdal to the southeast. Gloppen
Gloppen is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. Gloppen is generally subdivided into three areas: Hyen in the west, Gloppen in the center, and Breim in the east. Each of the areas have their own main service centres. Sandane, the administrative centre of the municipality, is the largest with about 2,500 inhabitants. Sandane, Vereide, and Sørstranda are centered on the Gloppefjorden in Gloppen in the central part of the municipality. The villages of Byrkjelo, Re, Kandal, and Egge are centered on the lake Breimsvatnet in the Breim area in the east. Fjaler
Fjaler is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sunnfjord. The administrative centre is the village of Dale. Other places in Fjaler include Espedal, Flekke, Folkestad, Guddal, and Hellevika. Fjaler was the birthplace of famous Norwegian poet Jakob Sande.
