Clawfinger
Clawfinger is a Swedish rap metal band from Stockholm. The group is known for aggressive but melodic music and tackling political and anti-racist themes in their songs. History Origins: 1989–1991 The band's origin dates back to mid-1989, when Zak Tell and Jocke Skog met while working together at Rosenlund Hospital in Stockholm. In 1990, they were joined by the Norwegian guitarists Bård Torstensen and Erlend Ottem who were also working at the hospital. The four soon realized their similar interests in music. Bård and Erlend played previously in a band called Theo in their hometown Arendal in Norway. They invested their free time exploring the musical world, composing and writing songs while eventually evolving into a band. ''Use Your Brain'' is the second studio album by Swedish rap metal band Clawfinger, released in 1995 by MVG Records and Warner Music Group. It contains twelve tracks. Three bonus tracks were added to the 2004 re-release. Three singles and their accompanying videos were released from the album. Bård Torstensen
Bård Torstensen (born 13 September 1961) is a Norwegian guitarist and record producer, best known as a founder and longtime member of the rap metal band Clawfinger. Torstensen also plays guitar in the ice skate-country band Melkesyra and the jazz/metal band Okavango, both of which are from his home town. Before founding Clawfinger in 1990 with Zak Tell (lead vocals), Jocke Skog (keyboards) and Erlend Ottem (guitar), he and Ottem played in a local band named Theo. This band made only one single and one LP, ''The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly'' (1988). Torstensen is a known activist in his home town Arendal, and is engaged in preserving his community Barbu by working to stop new building plans. ''Hate Yourself with Style'' is the sixth studio album by Swedish rap metal band Clawfinger, released on 18 November 2005 via Nuclear Blast. It continues the path entered on ''Zeros & Heroes'' and is characterized by speedy melodic hard rock guitar riffs. The keyboards which particularly characterized ''A Whole Lot of Nothing'' have completely disappeared. The social commentary within the album (including rants against rapists and positing that homophobes are themselves secretly gay) received both positive and negative reviews. Unlike the previous albums, where the limited edition version had two or more bonus tracks, the limited edition of this album has a DVD with live footage from the Greenfield Festival and video clips of all singles up to Clawfinger's third album. Grammis
The Grammis are music awards presented annually to musicians and songwriters in Sweden. The oldest Swedish music awards, they were instituted as a local equivalent of the Grammy Awards given in the United States. The awards ceremony is generally held each year in February in Stockholm. The awards were established in 1969 and awarded until 1972 when they were cancelled, then revived in 1987. There are around 20 different award categories, which have changed over the years.
