City Improvement Board
Telangana Housing Board earlier known as City Improvement Board is public sector corporation under Government of Telangana located in Hyderabad, Telangana. Its activities are to facilitate affordable housing to the citizens of Telangana. The board, which was formerly known as City Improvement Board until 1960, was conceived by Nizam Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII in 1911. History In the early 20th century, Nizams-ruled Hyderabad was affected by the large-scale flooding of the Musi river in 1908 and a deadly plague in 1911. This led to a decrease in population in the city. Then-Nizam Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII, who had just occupied the throne, was aware of these problems. Together with his ministers and city planners, the Nizam decided to improve the sanitation and hygiene of the city. Dabeerpura
Dabeerpura is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the Old City area of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is surrounded by Yakutpura, Chanchalguda, Purani Haveli, Noorkhan Bazar, and Azampura. Dabeerpura has one of the original thirteen gateways called ''darwaza''. There is a big flyover over the train track in this suburb built in 1990. Etymology Dabeerpura is named after the famous Delhi-born Urdu poet and writer Mirza Ghalib who was given the title 'Dabeer-ul-Mulk'. Osmania Hospital
Osmania General Hospital (OGH) is one of the oldest hospitals in India located at Afzal Gunj, Hyderabad and is named after its founder – Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad. It is run by the Government of Telangana, and is one of the largest in the state. It was built at a construction cost of 2,00,00,000.
