Circuit Showdown was a Philippine auto racing series that began in 2010 and was organized by Enzo Pastor and Dalia Pastor. It was the only circuit racing series in the country that is open to both amateur and professional drivers. Touring Car Racing
Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition with heavily modified road-going cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. While the cars do not move as fast as those in Formula racing, formula or sports car racing, sports car races, their similarity both to one another and to fans' own vehicles makes for entertaining, well-supported racing. The lesser use of aerodynamics means following cars have a much easier time passing than in open-wheel racing, and the more substantial bodies of the cars makes the subtle bumping and nudging for overtaking much more acceptable as part of racing. As well as short "sprint" races, many touring car series include one or more Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance races, which last anything from 3 to 24 hours and are a test of reliability and pit crews as much as car, driver speed, and consistency. Enzo Pastor
Ferdinand "Enzo" Pastor (January 24, 1982 – June 12, 2014) was a Filipino racing driver. Pastor made his racing debut at the 1999 Toyota Corolla Cup with a Toyota Corolla as his first vehicle. Pastor was the first Filipino to have participated in the NASCAR Whelen Euroseries Open Championship race circuit. Pastor landed on sixth place overall for his first Euroseries Open Championship in 2013 and made one of the fastest laps in the series. Pastor was invited to participate in the K&N Pro Series East. On June 12, 2014, Pastor died from gunshot wounds after motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed the truck he rode on in Quezon City, which left his assistant, Paolo Salazar, injured. Pastor was travelling to Clark, Pampanga, in preparation for the final leg of the 2014 Asian V8 Championship Series season. Clark International Speedway, abbreviated as CIS, is a motorsport venue at the Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines. History It was built on November 15, 2008 and has a Grade 4 accreditation level from the FIA. The circuit features 18 turns and runs in a counter-clockwise direction. Clark International Speedway hosts both 2- and 4-wheeled events. This includes the Philippine Superbike Championship, Toyota Vios Cup, Philippine GT Championship, Philippine Touring Car Championship, and FlatOut Race Series. The layout also has a drag strip that hosts the National Drag Racing Championship.
