Cinnabar Theater
The Cinnabar Theater, located in Petaluma, California, is a professional non-profit theater producing opera and musical theatre, drama and a chamber music series in a 120-seat venue, under the auspices of the Cinnabar Arts Corporation. The venue is also home to the Young Repertory Theater (founded in 1983), the longest running and largest youth performing arts program in Sonoma County. The company's Music Director is Mary Chun. History The theater, a 1908 schoolhouse, was purchased by Marvin Klebe (1935–1999) and his wife and love Jan Klebe in 1970 as a venue to produce opera and musical theater. The Klebes converted it into a theater with much family and community help including the talents of Marvin's San Francisco Opera Company colleague, soprano Sylvia Dav(1937-). Cinnabar Theater opened in 1972 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2022. Murry Sidlin (Baltimore, United States, 1940), is an American conductor and professor. Biography Born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1940, Sidlin studied at the Peabody Institute, graduating in 1968 with a Master's degree. Sidlin's first appointment after graduating was as Assistant Conductor at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under Sergiu Comissiona. He was later appointed Resident conductor at the National Symphony Orchestra under Antal Doráti, and with Oregon Symphony Orchestra. He was also the Music Director of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, and the Tulsa Philharmonic. For 32 years he was co-director (together with David Zinman) of the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen Festival. The Théâtre du Châtelet () is a theatre and opera house, located in the place du Châtelet in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, France. One of two theatres (the other being the Théâtre de la Ville) built on the site of a ''châtelet'', a small castle or fortress, it was designed by Gabriel Davioud at the request of Baron Haussmann between 1860 and 1862. Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (OTSL) is an American summer opera festival held in St. Louis, Missouri. Typically four operas, all sung in English, are presented each season, which runs from late May to late June. Performances are accompanied by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, which is divided into two ensembles, each covering two of the operas, for the season. The Hawaii Opera Theatre (HOT) is the islands' only major opera company established in 1960. The company performs three or more operas in a season. Opera seasons start in October and end in the early summer of the following year. It performs mostly in the Blaisdell Concert Hall, Honolulu.
