Churchill, Prince Edward Island
Churchill is a community in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island. The community was named for Winston Churchill. It is located in the township of Lot 65, Queens County immediately west of New Haven. Churchill is located in the Bonshaw Hills, a high land in the centre of the province. Strathgartney Hill separates the community from Bonshaw to the west. Transmitters The Strathgartney Hill is the location of several radio and television broadcasters, which serve the portion of central Prince Edward Island that includes Charlottetown and Summerside. CBAFT
CBAFT-DT (channel 11) is an Ici Radio-Canada Télé station in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, serving Acadians in the Maritimes and Franco-Newfoundlanders in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is part of a twinstick with Fredericton-based CBC Television station CBAT-DT (channel 4). CBAFT-DT's studios are located on Main Street in Moncton, adjacent to the Dieppe border and the CF Champlain shopping centre, and its transmitter is located on Timberline Road in Moncton. CKQK-FM is a radio station broadcasting at 105.5 FM in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada with a Top 40/CHR format branded on-air as ''Hot 105.5''. Ici Musique (stylized as ICI Musique) is the French-language music radio service of Canada's national public broadcaster, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (''Société Radio-Canada''). It is the French equivalent of the English CBC Music, although it has a different programming focus. History The network was originally launched as ''Le FM de Radio-Canada'' in 1974, with stations in Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Chicoutimi. The network grew slowly. Owned and operated by the (government-owned) Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (French language, French: Société Radio-Canada), it broadcasts on 88.1 Hertz, MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 33,500 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 94,200 watts (List of broadcast station classes, class C). CBH-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting in Halifax, Nova Scotia at 102.7 MHz. The station was launched on June 1, 1975 and is the CBC Music outlet for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. CBCT-FM is a Canadian radio station. It is the CBC Radio One affiliate for all of Prince Edward Island, with studios in Charlottetown, broadcasting at 96.1 MHz.
