Christopher W. Johnson
Christopher W. Johnson, FRSE, FRAeS, FBCS, is a British computer scientist and Pro Vice Chancellor for Engineering and Physical Sciences at Queen's University, Belfast. Previously he was Professor and Head of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, UK. Education and early life Chris Johnson was born on 15 April 1965. He was educated at Verulam School, Trinity College, Cambridge (MA), and the University of York (MSc, DPhil). Career and research Johnson's research focuses on the resilience of safety-critical systems. He supported the United Nations in improving the cyber security of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear facilities (CBRN). Johnson designed the cyber incident reporting processes under Article 13a of the Framework Directive (2009/140/EC) and Article 4 of the e-Privacy directive (2002/58/EC) on behalf of the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA). CBRN
Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence (CBRN defence) are protective measures taken in situations in which chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear warfare (including terrorism) hazards may be present. CBRN defence consists of CBRN passive protection, contamination avoidance, and weapons of mass destruction mitigation. A CBRN incident differs from a hazardous material incident in both scope (i.e., CBRN can be a mass casualty situation) and intent. CBRN incidents are responded to under the assumption that they are intentional and malicious; evidence preservation and perpetrator apprehension are of greater concern than with HAZMAT incidents. A 2011 forecast concluded that worldwide government spending on CBRN defence products and services would reach US$8.38bn that year. The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) is a British Research Council that provides government funding for grants to undertake research and postgraduate degrees in engineering and the physical sciences, mainly to universities in the United Kingdom. Grenfell Tower
Grenfell Tower is a derelict 24-storey residential tower block in North Kensington in London, England. The tower was completed in 1974 as part of the first phase of the Lancaster West Estate. The tower was named after Grenfell Road, which ran to the south of the building; the road itself was named after Field Marshal Lord Grenfell, a senior British Army officer. Most of the tower was destroyed in a severe fire on 14 June 2017. The building's top 20 storeys consisted of 120 flats, with six per floor – two flats with one bedroom each and four flats with two bedrooms each – with a total of 200 bedrooms. Johnson Space Center
The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC) is NASA's center for human spaceflight (originally named the Manned Spacecraft Center), where human spaceflight training, research, and flight control are conducted. The Langley Research Center (LaRC or NASA Langley), located in Hampton, Virginia, United States of America, is the oldest of NASA's field centers. It directly borders Langley Air Force Base and the Back River on the Chesapeake Bay.
