Christian Zurita
Christian Gustavo Zurita Ron (born 4 April 1970) is an Ecuadorian journalist and politician who was a candidate for president of Ecuador in the 2023 general election. He was selected as Fernando Villavicencio's replacement on the Movimiento Construye ticket following his assassination. Prior to his presidential candidacy, he was an investigative journalist based in Quito. Biography Zurita was born in Quito, Ecuador. He graduated from the Central University of Ecuador with a degree in Social Communications. Professional Career He was a correspondent for Vistazo magazine from 1993 to 2000. Subsequently, between 2002 and 2008, he served as the head of the Investigation Unit of the 24 Horas news program on Teleamazonas. Andrea González Náder (born 1 April 1987) is an Ecuadorian environmental activist, entrepreneur and political figure who is currently running for President of Ecuador in the 2025 general election. She ran for vice-president in the 2023 Ecuadorian election. Biography Born in Guayaquil, González holds an Engineering Degree in Environmental Technology from Universidad Del Pacífico. After graduating, she founded and led several environmental organizations. Political career In 2018 González ran for the vice prefecture of Guayas for the Popular Unity party and, in 2020, she ran for a seat in the National Assembly; both bids were unsuccessful. Rafael Vicente Correa Delgado (; born 6 April 1963), known as Rafael Correa, is an Ecuadorian politician and economist who served as President of Ecuador from 2007 to 2017. The leader of the PAIS Alliance political movement from its foundation until 2017, Correa is a democratic socialist and his administration focused on the implementation of left-wing policies. Teleamazonas is an Ecuadorian television network that was launched on 22 February 1974. It is one of the major television networks in the country. It was founded by Antonio Granda Centeno and has two feeds: one produced in Quito and broadcast in the rest of the country, and the other one produced in and distributed in Guayaquil. History Teleamazonas began broadcasting on February 22, 1974, as the first network with colour television transmissions in Ecuador. Its headquarters are located in Quito.
