Chittaranjan Sutar
Chittaranjan Sutar (23 March 1928 - 27 November 2002) is a Bangladeshi politician and former Member of Parliament of Bangladesh from Bakerganj-14 (now Pirojpur-1). Biography Suttar was an Awami League politician, he was sent to India to act as liaison between the Government of India and the Mujibnagar Government, Mujibnagar government during the Bangladesh Liberation war. He was based in Kolkata. He fled Bangladesh after the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975 to Dhaka, Bangladesh. He became the leader of the Bangabhumi Movement. He has been accused by the Bangladesh Rifles Director General, Major General Jahangir Alam Chowdhury of leading Bangabhumi, Bir Banga, an insurgent group. The Daily Ittefaq
''The Daily Ittefaq'' ( bn, দৈনিক ইত্তেফাক, translit. ''Doinik Ittefak'') is a Bengali-language daily newspaper. Founded in 1953, it is the oldest newspaper, and one of the most circulated newspapers in Bangladesh. This newspaper format is broadsheet and is printed by Ittefaq Group of Publications Limited. Pre-1971 The ''Weekly Ittefaq'' was first published on December 24, 1949 by Yar Mohammad Khan, its founders and publishers and also the founders and treasurers of Bangladesh Awami League. As both were actively involved politics and the Bengali nationalist movement, they appointed Tofazzal Hossain, who was working in Kolkata at the time, as an editor of Kolkata-based ''The Daily Ittehad'', published by Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy. Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) are a paramilitary force responsible for the border security of Bangladesh. The force is known as "The Vigilant Sentinels of the National Frontier". The BGB is entrusted with the responsibility to defend the border of Bangladesh. It was formerly known as the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR). BGB boasts a military history spanning over two centuries. During peacetime this force is also responsible for anti-smuggling operations, investigating cross border crime and extending governmental authority to remote and isolated areas. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, (born 2 February 1953 in Munshiganj District, East Pakistan) is a retired three-star general of the Bangladesh Army and former Chief of the Bangladesh Rifles during the conflicts with Border Security Force of India and skirmishes with Banga Sena militant group in the Bangladesh–India border. A former Principal Staff Officer of the Army of Bangladesh he was elevated to the position of Quartermaster general at the same time his Military Academy course-mate Moeen U Ahmed, the Chief of the Army Staff was made first serving Four-star General in national military history. Bangabhumi ( bn, বঙ্গভূমি, meaning the land of Vanga, also spelt Bongobhumi) also known as Bir Bongo ( bn, বীর বঙ্গ), is a separatist movement to create a Bengali Hindu country for Bangladeshi Hindus in southwestern Bangladesh, envisioned by Banga Sena. Banga Sena ( en, Vanga Army) is a separatist Hindu organization which advocates formation of a Bangabhumi for Bengali Hindus in Bangladesh. The group is led by Kalidas Baidya. The movement was founded in 1973 in India soon after the independence of Bangladesh to support the Hindu refugees from Bangladesh, who were targeted by the Pakistan Army in the 1971 Bangladesh atrocities.
