Chevalier Garden
Chevalier Garden () is a Home Ownership Scheme and Private Sector Participation Scheme court in Tai Shui Hang, Ma On Shan, New Territories, Hong Kong near MTR Tai Shui Hang station. It was jointly developed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority and Chevalier Group, and it was the first HOS court developed by Chevalier Group. It has a total of seventeen blocks built between 1987 and 1988. Background Chevalier Garden is the first public housing estate in Hong Kong to be built by the Chevalier Group. Later, Chevalier Group had built several public housing estates in Hong Kong, such as Beverly Garden in Tseung Kwan O, Charming Garden in Mong Kok, Cheerful Garden, Fullview Garden and Harmony Garden in Siu Sai Wan, Elegance Garden in Tai Po, Glorious Garden in Tuen Mun, Grandway Garden in Tai Wai and Saddle Ridge Garden in Ma On Shan. Ma On Shan (town)
Ma On Shan is a new town along the eastern coast of Tolo Harbour in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Although it was initially an extension of Sha Tin New Town, it has its own town centre and various government facilities, and is now classified as a separate new town in government reports. Administratively, it belongs to Sha Tin District. Geography Ma On Shan is located by the west face of the twin peaks of Ma On Shan, which can be translated as "horse saddle mountain". The town is built on the strip between Tolo Harbour and Ma On Shan mountain. The north end of the town reaches the settlement of Wu Kai Sha and the southern Tai Shui Hang. Private Sector Participation Scheme
The Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) is a subsidised-sale public housing programme managed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority. It was instituted in the late 1970s as part of the government policy for public housing with two aims – to encourage better-off tenants of rental flats to vacate those flats for re-allocation to families in greater housing need; and also to provide an opportunity for home ownership to families unable to afford to buy in the private sector. Under the scheme, the government sells flats to eligible public housing tenants and to lower-income residents at prices below the market level, with discounts usually between 30 and 40 per cent. It restricts resale of the units in the second-hand market to other families who qualify or, on the open market, after payment of a premium equal to the updated value of the discount given on the original purchase. Tai Wai () is an area in the New Territories, Hong Kong, located between Sha Tin and the Lion Rock, within the Sha Tin District. With three rapid transit stations, one of which an interchange station serving two lines, five bus termini and several trunk roads and tunnels connecting it to other parts of the New Territories, such as Tsuen Wan, and Kowloon, Tai Wai is an important transport node in Hong Kong.
