Chester Travis
Chester Travis (born 4 July 1987) is a New Zealand film maker, author and musician. His most notable works include his music video for Kimbra's " Goldmine". "Goldmine" was filmed in a factory in Berlin. It was shot in black-and-white using a high amount of stop-motion animation; and was co-directed by Timothy Armstrong. The music video has received critical acclaim. ''Rolling Stone'' called the video "stunning"; while Paley Martin of ''Billboard'' proclaimed it as "an artful and edgy ..piece set to a soul-piercing soundtrack". Scott Heins of Okayplayer described the video as "hypnotic". In 2015, his ten part web series, "How To Be Gay" won Best Queer Series at San Francisco Web Festival. Travis is also a musician, going by the stage name Great Danes. In 2016, Great Danes released their first EP and toured with Scottish rock band, Travis. Christchurch
Christchurch ( ; mi, Ōtautahi) is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand and the seat of the Canterbury Region. Jan Roth
Jan Roth (10 November 1899 – 4 October 1972) was a Czech cinematographer. During World War I he served in the Austro-Hungarian Navy. Roth started his career as a lighting technician at the New German theatre in Prague. In 1926 he became a chief lighting technician at Karel Lamač's Kavalírka film studio. Roth later served as Otto Heller's assistant on Lamač's films. In 1934 he started to work as a cameraman. He soon became of the most prolific cinematographers of the Czechoslovak cinema. Following the German occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939 he continued to work for both Czech and German productions at Barrandov Studios. Roth often collaborated with directors Otakar Vávra and Martin Frič. He was noted for his ability to create Chiaroscuro effects. 2017 New Zealand Music Awards
The 2017 New Zealand Music Awards was the 52nd holding of the annual ceremony featuring awards for musical recording artists based in or originating from New Zealand. It took place on 16 November 2017 at Spark Arena in Auckland and it was hosted by Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce. The awards show was broadcast live nationally on Three. Nominations for the 2017 New Zealand Music Awards opened on 21 June 2017, and cover artists who have had commercial recordings released between 1 August 2016 and 31 July 2017. Okayplayer
Okayplayer is an online hip-hop and alternative music website and community, described by ''Rolling Stone'' as a "tastemaker" and "an antidote to dull promotional Web sites used by most artists". The community was founded by The Roots' drummer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson and author Angela Nissel as a loose musical collective in 1987, and evolved into an online community in 1999. In 2004, Questlove launched Okayplayer Records as a spin-off of the community, in partnership with Decon. After a near-decade hiatus, the label was rebooted in 2012 with Danny! as its flagship artist. This community is made up of recording artists (who keep their official internet homes there), visitors to the site, and individuals who post on the site's message board, the most popular feature of the site. Jann Simon Wenner ( ; born January 7, 1946) is an American magazine magnate who is a co-founder of the popular culture magazine ''Rolling Stone'', and former owner of '' Men's Journal'' magazine.
