Chelmsford's first ever game at the Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre was a challenge match against Peterborough Titans on Saturday 5 September 1987. The Haringey Huskies are a British ice hockey team based in London, England. The Huskies are members of the NIHL 2 South East Division and play their home games at Alexandra Palace. Formation The EIHA announced on 1 June 2017 that the Haringey Racers would no longer be operating a NIHL franchise out of Alexandra Palace, instead a new team, the Haringey Huskies, would be offered the Racers spot in the league. This announcement was not without controversy as Racers owner David Richards Jnr would claim that the franchise had been stolen from him by the Huskies ownership. Peterborough () is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, east of England. Slough Jets are an ice hockey team from Slough, Berkshire, England playing in the NIHL South Division 1. The team was founded in 1986 after the construction of the Slough Ice Arena in Montem Lane in Slough and joined the first division of the British League. With the help of Gary Stefan who had previously been with Streatham Redskins, the Slough Jets were formed. The Slough Jets are one of the few clubs in the UK who from their foundation have continued to play to the present day without interruption or a change of name. The Peterborough Phantoms are a British ice hockey team that play at the Planet Ice Peterborough Arena, in Bretton, Peterborough. The Peterborough Phantoms ice hockey club was founded in 2002. It replaced the former city based team, the Peterborough Pirates, and plays in the same arena. Invicta Dynamos are the senior, semi-professional, ice hockey team based in Gillingham in Kent. The season runs from September to April. They usually play their home games on a Sunday at 17:15. They share their home with the Invicta Mustangs whose colours are blue, white, grey and red. History The club was founded in 1997 replacing the Medway Bears as the senior team based at the Ice Bowl.
