Cheap Thrills (film)
''Cheap Thrills'' is a 2013 American black comedy horror thriller film directed by E. L. Katz in his directorial debut. It starts Pat Healy, Sara Paxton, Ethan Embry and David Koechner. The film follows two friends competing in a series of challenges worth different amounts of money given by a rich couple. It premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) on March 8, 2013, and was acquired by Drafthouse Films and Snoot Entertainment. It was released on March 21, 2014, in the United States. Gabriel Cowan
Gabriel Cowan is a film director, composer and film producer. He has made documentaries, horror films, dramas, and comedies. Career Gabriel Cowan was originally a musician. At 18, he worked with Robbie Robertson to score the film '' Jimmy Hollywood'' and signed a contract with Geffen Records. He later formed a band with David Arquette that helped score ''Scream 2'' and ''Scream 3''. After an unfulfilling career in which he scored television commercials, Cowan returned to school and graduated with a master's degree in film directing. While at CalArts, he co-wrote and co-directed '' Breathing Room'' with John Suits, whom he met at film school. "The Most Dangerous Game", also published as "The Hounds of Zaroff", is a short story by Richard Connell, first published in ''Collier's'' on January 19, 1924, with illustrations by Wilmot Emerton Heitland. The story features a big-game hunter from New York City who falls from a yacht and swims to what seems to be an abandoned and isolated island in the Caribbean, where he is hunted by a Russian aristocrat. The story is inspired by the big-game hunting safaris in Africa and South America that were particularly fashionable among wealthy Americans in the 1920s. The story has been adapted numerous times, most notably as the 1932 RKO Pictures film ''The Most Dangerous Game'', starring Joel McCrea, Leslie Banks and Fay Wray, and for a 1943 episode of the CBS Radio series ''Suspense'', starring Orson Welles. Joseph Patrick Michael Leydon (born August 22, 1952) is an American film critic and historian. A critic and correspondent for ''Variety'' since 1990, he is the author of ''Joe Leydon's Guide to Essential Movies You Must See'' (Michael Wiese Productions), and was a contributing critic for ''Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide''. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry.
