Charles Danforth Pettys (born April 25, 1990) is an American-born, Filipino professional footballer who plays as a defender for Global F.C. He has also been a member of the Philippines national football team. Early life and education Born on April 25, 1990, in Columbus, Ohio to an American father and Filipino mother, Pettys attended Bexley High School where he was a member of their soccer team. Pettys and family moved to Pasadena, California in 2008. Pettys attended the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2009 and was a student-athlete on the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's soccer team. He appeared for the Gauchos in 5 games without recording a point before transferring to play on the Kentucky Wildcats men's soccer team. The 2008 USL Premier Development League season was the 14th season of the PDL. The regular season started on April 26, 2008, and ended on July 20, 2008. The playoffs began on July 22, 2008, and ended with the PDL Championship Game on August 9, 2008. Thunder Bay Chill finished the season as national champions, beating Laredo Heat on penalty kicks after a 1–1 tie in the PDL Championship game in Laredo, Texas on 9 August 2008. Thomas Dooley (born May 12, 1961) is an American former soccer player and coach. He played as a defender and defensive midfielder and was a long-time member and former captain of the United States national team. Dooley recently served as the head coach of the Philippines national team. Early life Dooley was born to a German mother and a U.S. Army father. Club career Dooley played as a forward with amateur team FK Pirmasens. He started his professional career in 1984 with third division club FC Homburg.
