Charles Dalmas
Charles Dalmas (11 March 1863 – 18 October 1938) was a French architect who mainly worked in Nice, in the south of France. Life Charles Dalmas was born in Nice on 11 March 1863, one of six children of a shoemaker and a seamstress. He attended the Nice School of Decorative Arts, where he was recognized as a gifted student. In August 1886 he was admitted as an architecture student at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the only school in France that issued a diploma of architecture. The city of Nice helped fund his studies in 1888. He won various prizes including the Müller-Soehnée prize of 539 francs for deserving students. In the 1890-91 term he was unable to complete the two projects required of each student due to health problems and a period of military service, and was therefore dismissed from the school. Marcel Dalmas
Marcel Dalmas (1892–1950) was a French architect who mainly worked in Nice, in the south of France. His Art Deco buildings were usually richly ornamented. He also taught architecture, was town planner for Nice and became a municipal councillor for Nice. Life Marcel Dalmas was born in 1892, the son of the architect Charles Dalmas. He qualified as an ''Architecte diplômé par le gouvernement''. He collaborated with his father in the 1920s and 1930s until his father died in 1938. His buildings were neoclassical or Art Deco in style. Charles and Marcel Dalmas received a Grand Prix at the Paris International Decorative and Industrial Arts Exhibition in 1925 for the Alpes Maritimes pavilion. Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée is a nine-floor luxury casino hotel complex located on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France. It was built in 1929 by architects Charles and Marcel Dalmas, and partly rebuilt and modernized in 1990, a year after two of its facades were classified as historical monuments. It contains 187 rooms and twelve suites, and is owned by Constellation Hotels Holding. History Palais de la Méditerranée was built by architects Charles and Marcel Dalmas, in 1929 for the American millionaire Frank Jay Gould. According to Insight Guides, it "epitomised 1930s glamour with a casino, theatre, restaurant and cocktail bar". InterContinental Carlton Cannes Hotel
The Carlton Cannes is a historic 332-room luxury hotel opened in 1911, located at 58 La Croisette in Cannes on the French Riviera. It is famous for hosting movie stars from around the world during the annual Film Festival.
