Chandika ( te, చండిక) is a 1940 Telugu film directed by R. S. Prakash. Veteran actress P. Vemuri Gaggaiah
Vemuri Gaggayya (1895–1955) was an Indian actor, singer, and thespian known for his works in Telugu cinema, and Telugu theatre. In 1933, East India Film Company produced its first Indian film, '' Savitri'' in Telugu. Shot in Calcutta on a budget of 75,000 and based on a popular stage play by Mylavaram Bala Bharathi Nataka Samajam, the film was directed by the father of the "Telugu Theater Movement", Chittajallu Pullayya, casting Vemuri Gaggayya and Dasari Ramathilakam as "Yama" and " Savithri" respectively. The blockbuster film has received an honorary diploma at Venice Film Festival. Gaggayya was an important member of the "Mylavarama Bala Bharathi Nataka Samajam" in Mylavaram, Krishna district during 1913–28. Through "Mylavaram Theatre", Gaggayya became a household name for mythological roles. Bellary Raghava (Telugu: బళ్ళారి రాఘవ; born ''Tadipatri Raghavacharyulu''; 2 August 1880 – 16 April 1946) was an Indian playwright and actor, known for his works predominantly in Telugu theatre and cinema.M.L. Kamal Ghosh
Kamal Ghosh (1910–1983; often misspelled in film credits as Kamaal) was an Indian cinematographer and film director. Although a native of Kolkata, he was active primarily in Tamil and Telugu cinema. Early life Kamal Ghosh was the nephew of filmmaker, writer and actor Debaki Bose. He received training from his uncle, working with New Theaters, Calcutta (now Kolkata), in various aspects of film making. It was the lawyer turned filmmaker K. Pasupuleti Kannamba (''Pasupulēţi Kannāṃba'') (5 October 1911 – 7 May 1968) was an Indian actress, playback singer and film producer of Telugu cinema, of Andhra Pradesh, India. She acted in more than 170 films and produced about 25 films in Telugu and Tamil languages during the 1930s to the 1960s. Career Kannamba was born in Eluru. She started acting in dramas at the age of 13. She performed many characters such as Sati Savitri, Anasuya and Chandramati. He shot to fame with the role of Balawardhiraju in 1942 Balanagamma movie produced by Gemini Studios. Birth and childhood Master Viswam was born as Vuppala Viswanadham on 7 January 7, 1932, at Jaggayyapeta, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh to Vuppala Pullayya and Kanakaratnam.
