Chamardi
Chamardi (or Chamardi Vacchani) is a large village located within the Vallabhipur Taluka township of the Bhavnagar district (Gujarat), in West India. It was formerly a part of Rajput princely state. History and population Chamardi was one of many tribute-paying princely states in the Gohilwar prant. Chamardi was under the Eastern Kathiawar Agency's colonial authority and was ruled by Gohil Rajput Chieftains from the Bhayat dynasty of the Bhavnagar State. It was the headquarters of a ''thana'' Agency. In 1877, the population of the village was 2,371. By 1881, the population had decreased to 2,117. In 1901, Chamardi had a population of 2,168 with a state revenue of 10,000 Rupees, and was paying a tribute of 858 Rupees to the Gaekwar Baroda State and Junagadh State. Historically, Chamardi was one of many native 'princely states' under the authority of the Eastern Kathiawar Agency. Vallabhipur Taluka
Vallabhipur Taluka is a taluka of Bhavnagar District, southeastern Gujarat, India. It was named after the capital, Vallabhipur, of the Maitraka Dynasty who ruled in this area from 470 AD to 788 AD. Vallabhipur Taluka is in the northwestern part of Bhavnagar District, and borders on Botad District to the northwest and north, Bhavnagar Taluka to the east, Sihor Taluka to the south, and Umarana Taluka to the southwest. Eastern Kathiawar Agency
The Baroda, Western India and Gujarat States Agency was an agency of the Indian Empire, managing the relations of the Provincial Government of the Bombay Presidency with a collection of princely states. The political agent in charge of the agency resided at Baroda (Vadodara). History In 1937 the princely states of the Baroda Agency were merged with those of the agencies adjacent to the northern part of the Bombay Presidency, Rewa Kantha Agency, Surat Agency, Nasik Agency, Kaira Agency and Thana Agency, in order to form the Baroda and Gujarat States Agency.
