Centennial Broadcasting is a small market radio broadcasting company based in Clemmons, North Carolina. The company is led by President and CEO Allen B. Shaw. Shaw began his career in 1959, at the age of 15, at radio station WRWB in Kissimmee, Florida. History 1997-2000 Centennial purchased Las Vegas-based KJUL from American General Media for an undisclosed sum on May 13, 1997. Two months later, on July 22, 1997, the company bought another Las Vegas station, KSTJ, also for an undisclosed amount. In March 1998, Sinclair Broadcast Group sold three New Orleans-based stations to the company for $16 million. The stations included two FMs, WRNO-FM and KMEZ, and one AM, WBYU. In April of the same year, Centennial purchased Las Vegas station KKLZ from Apogee Companies for $21 million. Clemmons is a village in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States and a suburb of Winston-Salem. The population was 21,177 at the 2020 census, with an estimated population of 21,517 in 2021. Geography Clemmons is located in southwestern Forsyth County at (36.025232, -80.386413). It is bordered to the northeast by the city of Winston-Salem, to the north by the town of Lewisville, and to the southwest, across the Yadkin River, by the town of Bermuda Run in Davie County. Interstate 40 passes through the village, with access from Exits 182 and 184. Downtown Winston-Salem is northeast via I-40 and U.S. Route 421, and I-40 leads southwest to Statesville. WZFC serves Winchester along with Frederick and Clarke counties in Virginia. Originally known for 80 years under the WINC call sign, the station was launched by Richard Field Lewis, Jr. on June 26, 1941 as Winchester's first radio station.
