Ceconomy AG is an international retail company headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. Its history goes back to the Metro AG, Metro Group. Ceconomy operates more than 1,000 consumer Consumer electronics, electronics stores in twelve countries. In addition to MediaMarkt and Saturn, the group owns Deutsche Technikberatung. 32.5% of its sales are generated online. The SDAX (German abbreviation for ''Small-Cap-deutsche Aktienindex'') is a stock market index composed of 70 small and medium-sized companies in Germany. These so-called ' small caps' rank directly below the MDAX (mid-cap) shares in terms of order book volume and market capitalization. Metro AG is a German multinational company based in Düsseldorf which operates business membership only cash and carry stores primarily under the Metro brand. Until 2020 it was also active in general retail business through Real division, which was sold to an investor consortium. Unlike American warehouse clubs such as Costco or Sam's Club, it is not possible for private customers to acquire a membership for most Metro locations. As of 2020 it operates around 680 stores in 24 countries in Europe and Asia. The company was established in 1964 by Ernst Schmidt and Wilhelm Schmidt-Ruthenbeck. Düsseldorf-Hafen is an urban quarter of Düsseldorf, Germany, part of Borough 3, located on the river Rhine and the location of the city's docks. The quarter covers , and is predominantly commercial and industrial in nature, with a very small residential population. It had 110 residents in the year 2020, making it the Düsseldorf quarter with the lowest population density. The docks prospered for decades but lost much of their trade when Mannesmann closed its nearby pipe factory. Hürth is a town in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
