Cecilie Leganger
Cecilie Leganger (born 12 March 1975) is a Norwegian retired handballer who played for the Norwegian national team. International championships Leganger made her debut on the Norwegian national team in 1993, 17 years old, and retired three years later, only 20. In 1993 she obtained bronze medal at the World Women's Handball Championship, being voted as Best Goalkeeper and Most Valuable Player at the championship. At the European Championship in 1994, she was voted best goalkeeper. At the 1995 World Championship she was again voted Best Goalkeeper. After a one-year break she made comeback as a club player, but did not play on the national team until the 1998 European Championship, winning gold medal with the Norwegian team and voted as best keeper in the championship. Zhai Chao (; born December 14, 1971 in Beijing) is a Chinese handball player who competed in the 1996 and 2004 Summer Olympics, as well as in the 1999, 2001 and 2003 World championships. Bojana Radulović ( sr-cyr, Бојана Радуловић, hu, Radulovics Bojana; born 23 March 1973), is a retired Serbian-Hungarian handball player who currently leads the handball academy of Dunaújváros. Often perceived as one of the best players of all time, she was voted IHF World Player of the Year in 2000 and 2003 by the International Handball Federation. IHF World Women's Handball Championship
The IHF Women's Handball World Championship has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 1957. European teams have won every time except 1995 where South Korea won as the first team outside Europe and 2013 where Brazil won as the first American team. The biggest winners are Russia and Norway with four titles each. Nine teams participated in the first championship, this number has grown in steps to 32 (from 2021). In 1977 a B-tournament was introduced and later in 1986 a C-tournament which served as qualification for the real championship or A-tournament. The Women's EHF Champions League is the competition for the top women's handball clubs in Europe, organised annually by the European Handball Federation (EHF). It is the most prestigious tournament for clubs, with the champions of Europe's top national leagues participating. Tournament structure Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 27 nations are allowed to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federations are allowed to request extra places or upgrades from the EHF Cup. The EHF Champions League is divided into five stages.
