The ''Catholic Naqib'' (Urdu کاتھولک نقیب) is the oldest Urdu-language Catholic magazine, founded in Lahore, Pakistan in 1929 by Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore. It was originally published by Lahore Press and, since 1997, by Naqib Printing Press. Naqib ''(نقیب)'' is an Arabic name that means "herald" or "Proclaimer". The Naqib is one of the oldest magazines in the history of Pakistani journalism. It was founded by the Bishops of Pakistan in 1929. History According to Mr. Gulzar Chohan, a former editor of Catholic Naqib, the magazine began in 1916 as an "Urdu News Letter" written by a Belgian Capuchin Priest. At the same time, an English Weekly "Catholic News" was published from the Lahore Diocese under the patronship of Bishop Fabien Eestermans. Khalid Rehmat
Father Khalid Rehmat OFMCap (born 5 August 1968) in Mianwali in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Islamabad-Rawalpindi, is the Apostolic Vicar of the Apostolic Vicariate of Quetta in Pakistan. Rehmat worked as a primary school teacher before joining the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. From 2008 to 2014 he taught at St. Mary's Minor Seminary, Lahore. He made his solemn vows in 2007. On 16 August 2008, he was ordained priest in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Lahore. From 2014, Rehmat served as parish priest in Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish in Sialkot, in the Archdiocese of Lahore. Since 2013, he has been editor of the bimonthly magazine Catholic Naqeeb. In November 2020, he was elected custos of the Mariam Siddeeqa Capuchin Custody in Pakistan. On January 1, 2021, Pope Francis named Father Khalid Rehmat as the new vicar apostolic of Quetta. The Sacred Heart High School for Girls is a private Catholic primary and secondary school for girls located in Lahore Pakistan. Established in 1908 by Mother Mary of the Holy Trinity order, the school is one of the oldest girls schools and is administered y the Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore. Sacred Heart Cathedral ( ur, ) is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore, located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Built at the behest of bishop Godefroid Pelckmans (Bishop of Lahore, 1893-1904) with Belgian aid and materials, the cathedral was consecrated by Bishop Fabian Eestermans, the Bishop of Lahore, on 19 November 1907. Its roots lie in the historical presence of the Belgian Capuchins in Pakistan. The design of this Cathedral was made according to the Roman Byzantine-style by Belgian architect, Edouard Dobbeleers of Antwerp.
