Castrolanda
Castrolanda is a village and cooperative in the municipality of Castro in the Brazilian state of Paraná. Castrolanda is a colony that was founded by Dutch immigrants in November 1951. History The Dutch colonists led by Jan de Jager, Geert Leffers and Feike Dijkstra acquired of land along the Iapó River from the city of Castro, and founded Castrolanda as an agriculture cooperative. In September 1952, 50 families and 61 cows boarded the ''MS Alioth'' in Rotterdam to establish a new colony in Brazil. Castrolanda has a 26 metres high windmill which was built in 2001 at the 50th anniversary of the colony. It is modelled after the windmill in Woldzigt and is able to mill. It is not only a tourist attraction, but also serves as a community centre with a library. The village also has historical museum. Paraná (state)
Paraná () is one of the 26 states of Brazil, in the south of the country, bordered on the north by São Paulo state, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the south by Santa Catarina state and the province of Misiones, Argentina, and on the west by Mato Grosso do Sul and Paraguay, with the Paraná River as its western boundary line. Castro is a municipality in the state of Paraná in the Southern Region of Brazil. In 2020 it had a population of 71,809 people. The main road running through the town is the PR-151 road. Economy Castrolanda is a colony that was founded by Dutch immigrants between 1951 and 1954. Testament to this there is a windmill in Castro. Its economy is based on agricultural production and dairy farming which is one of the most important in this region that is considered the largest dairy in Brazil due to their genetic quality. It has a considerable production of grain, mostly soy and beans. Also having one of the largest agricultural cooperatives in Brazil, which bears the name of the colony. Holambra
Holambra (from the words Holland-America-Brazil) is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Campinas. Holambra is the largest producer of flowers and ornamental plants in Latin America, also hosting the largest spring event in the continent, the Expoflora. The population is 15,272 (2020 est.) in an area of 65.58 km2. The elevation is 600m on average.
