Casa Berardi Mine
The Casa Berardi Mine is a gold mine north of La Sarre in Quebec, Canada. It is a trackless underground mine with an open-pit component. The mine has provable and probable reserves of 1,542,000 ounces of gold. In 2016, the East Mine Crown Pillar (EMCP) open-pit began development at a capital cost of $39 million. Development is expected to take 5.5 years. The EMCP pit is the first surface pit of the project. The mine produces about 2,300 tonnes of ore per day. The site has produced approximately 2 million ounces of gold since opening in 1988. Hecla Mining is a gold, silver and other precious metals mining company based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Founded in 1891, is the second-largest mining company that produces silver in the country. The LaRonde Mine is a gold mine in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region west of Val-d'Or in Quebec, Canada. LaRonde began commercial mining operations in 1988. The LaRonde mining complex has 3.8 million ounces of gold in provable and probable reserves. Previous operations at the LaRonde complex used open-pit mining methods. Presently, operations are primarily underground. The mine's Penna shaft – completed in March 2000 – has a depth of 2,250 metres.
