Carsten Bleness
Carsten Bleness (born 22 July 1958) is a Norwegian newspaper editor. He was born in Oslo as a son of Magne Bleness. He took the examen artium in 1977 and worked as a sailor, then manual laborer at Jøtul from 1980 to 1982. He took education as a Chief Mate and served as such for two years, and then returned to manual labor at Standard Telefon og Kabelfabrik until 1985. From 1985 to 1987 he led the radio station Radio Klassekampen. He worked in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation from 1988 to 1992, and in ''Aftenposten'' from 1992 to 2005. He was the newspaper's correspondent in London for a period. In 2005 he was hired as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper ''Dagsavisen''. He resigned in 2009 amid poor economic results, and was succeeded by Arne Strand as acting editor. Magne Bleness
Magne Bleness (30 April 1933 – 1 December 1992) was a Norwegian actor and theatre director. He was born in Fana, and was married twice, first to Berit Gøril Havrevold in 1957, second to Mette Janson in 1961. He had the son Carsten Bleness (b. 1958). He made his stage debut in 1953 in Oslo, at Sommerteatret, and later worked at Nationaltheatret and Fjernsynsteatret. His first stage production was the play ''Semmelweiss'' by Jens Bjørneboe, at Nationaltheatret in 1969. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. ''Hamar Arbeiderblad'' (often referred to locally as "HA") is local newspaper published in Hamar, Norway by Hamar Media. The paper is edited by Carsten Bleness. HA was one of the first newspapers to place the internet edition of a newspaper behind a paywall. Access to the internet edition is free for annual subscribers to the print edition. Access to the internet edition costs the same as the print edition. History The first edition of ''Hamar Arbeiderblad'' was published on 30 March 1925 with a print run of 1200 copies. Local branches of the Labour Party in Hamar, Vang, Stange, Romedal, Løten, Ringsaker and Nes were behind the founding of the newspaper. ''Dagsavisen'' is a daily newspaper published in Oslo, Norway. The former party organ of the Norwegian Labour Party, the ties loosened over time from 1975 to 1999. It has borne several names, and was called ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1923 to 1997. Eirik Hoff Lysholm is editor-in-chief. The newspaper depends on economic support from the Norwegian Government. History ''Dagsavisen'' was established by Christian Holtermann Knudsen in 1884 under the name ''Vort Arbeide'' ('Our Work' in archaic Riksmål), and was affiliated with the trade union center ''Fagforeningernes Centralkomité''. Holtermann Knudsen also had to establish his own printing press since the existing printing presses did not want to be affiliated with a labourer's newspaper. The fledgling project was marred by economic problems, and the burden of writing, editing, and printing lay chiefly on Knudsen. Arne Strand (born 17 March 1944) is a Norwegian journalist and politician for the Labour Party. He is the current political editor in the newspaper ''Dagsavisen''. Strand graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.mag. degree in 1968. He worked as a journalist in '' Vårt Land'' from 1964 to 1966, in ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1966 to 1976, and in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation from 1976 to 1987. Between 1987 and 1989 he was a State Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, as a part of Gro Harlem Brundtland's second cabinet.
