Carmen Larrabeiti
Carmen Larrabeiti Urquiza (2 June 1904 – June 1968) was a stage and screen actress from the Basque region in Spain. Biography Carmen Larrabeiti was born in Bilbao early in the twentieth century. At the age of 17, despite parental opposition, she embarked on a stage career, joining the company run by the impresario couple María Guerrero and Fernando Díaz de Mendoza y Aguado. This gave Larrabeiti the chance to appear in works by some of the leading playwrights of the time. There were numerous tours in Argentina with the Guerrero-Mendoza company during these years. In 1926 she married , the son of Guerrero and Mendoza. Her mother in law died in 1928 and her father in law in 1930, leaving Carlos in charge of the theatre company. However, Argentinian audiences were deserting live shows in favour of the new radio broadcasts, and a proliferation of rival theatres in Buenos Aires persuaded Larrabeiti and her husband that their future lay in Spain. María Carmen Díaz de Mendoza Larrabeiti (December 1, 1927 – March 11, 2018) was a Spanish theatre actress. Life Mari Carmen Díaz de Mendoza was born in Madrid towards the end of 1927. Her parents, and Carmen Larrabeiti, who were both actors, had married the previous year. He paternal grand parents were also highly successful in the world of theatre. Although Mari Carmen made one or two film appearances, the focus of her own acting career was the theatre. She embarked on her stage career in the 1940s at the Theatre of María Guerrero, originally purchased by her grandfather, the theatrical impresario Fernando Díaz de Mendoza y Aguado, back in 1908. Rafael Félix Rivelles Guillén (23 December 1898 — 3 December 1971) was a Spanish actor born in El Cabañal (El Cabanyal), a small town in the province of Valencia, Spain. Son of play actor José Rivelles and play actress Amparo Guillén, he was the father of famous Spanish star Amparo Rivelles. In the 1930s, with the advent of talking films, he went to Hollywood to make Spanish-language versions of American films, but eventually came back to Spain. Rivelles had two especially notable roles - the title role in ''Don Quijote de la Mancha'', and the Prior in ''Marcelino pan y vino'' (1955). He died in Madrid on 3 December 1971 and was interred at the El Cabanyal Cemetery in Valencia along with his father.
