Mari Carmen Díaz De Mendoza
María Carmen Díaz de Mendoza Larrabeiti (December 1, 1927 – March 11, 2018) was a Spanish theatre actress. Life Mari Carmen Díaz de Mendoza was born in Madrid towards the end of 1927. Her parents, and Carmen Larrabeiti, who were both actors, had married the previous year. He paternal grand parents were also highly successful in the world of theatre. Although Mari Carmen made one or two film appearances, the focus of her own acting career was the theatre. She embarked on her stage career in the 1940s at the Theatre of María Guerrero, originally purchased by her grandfather, the theatrical impresario Fernando Díaz de Mendoza y Aguado, back in 1908. In 1944 she appeared in a play based on Dostoyevsky's "Demons", playing opposite . Another early role was in the Spanish translation of "Time and the Conways" by J. B. Carlos Llopis
Carlos Llopis (20 January 1913 – 6 April 1970) was the shortened name used by the Spanish dramatist Carlos Fernández Montero Llopis. He wrote around 50 comedies almost all of which were staged in Madrid and theatres across Spain and Latin America. Biography Llopis was born in Madrid. His parents were actors. He came from the same generation as Miguel Mihura and Enrique Jardiel Poncela. Known for original insights and agile dialogues, the tone he cultivated was one of sophisticated bourgeois comedy. Miguel Mihura
Miguel Mihura Santos (21 July 1905, in Madrid – 27 October 1977) was a Spanish playwright. He is best known for his comedy '' Tres sombreros de copa'' (1952), a work of absurd humor that predates similar works by Beckett or Ionesco and that broke with many of the previous conventions of Spanish comic theatre. He was also active as a comics artist. Biography Miguel Mihura was born in Madrid in 1905. His father was an actor and theatrical producer. When he was in his twenties, he wrote his best-known comedy, ''Tres sombreros de copa'', but its humour was not appreciated by the conservative pre-war Spanish society. Alberto Closas Lluró (30 October 1921, in Barcelona – 19 September 1994, in Madrid) was a prolific Spanish film actor who appeared in the Cinema of Argentina in the 1940s and 1950s and in Spanish cinema after 1955. His family emigrated to Argentina in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War where in 1942 he acted in his first film '' Nada más que amor''. John Lasarus Williams (29 October 1924 – 15 June 2004), known as John L, was a Welsh nationalist activist. Williams was born in Llangoed on Anglesey, but lived most of his life in nearby Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. In his youth, he was a keen footballer, and he also worked as a teacher. His activism started when he campaigned against the refusal of Brewer Spinks, an employer in Blaenau Ffestiniog, to permit his staff to speak Welsh.
