Carlos Rivera
Carlos Rivera Guerra, better known as Carlos Rivera (born March 15, 1986), is a Mexican singer. He rose to fame by winning the third generation of ''La Academia''. Rivera has released four studio albums and participated in six theatre productions. Early life Rivera was born March 15, 1986, in Huamantla, Tlaxcala, Mexico. His wit made him a hometown celebrity from a young age, and continued after winning singing competitions and hosting a radio show on Radio Huamantla. His big break came in 2004. After many try-outs and auditions, he garnered a spot in the reality television singing competition ''La Academia'', produced by TV Azteca. After a series of challenges and critiques, including solos and duets, Rivera won over 80% of the votes from the judges and was crowned the winner for season three. Huamantla
Huamantla () is a small city in Huamantla Municipality located in the eastern half of the Mexican state of Tlaxcala. The area has a long indigenous history, but the city itself was not founded until the early colonial period, in the 1530s. It is mostly agricultural but it is best known for its annual homage to an image of the Virgin Mary called Our Lady of Charity. This includes a month of festivities, the best known of which are the “night no one sleeps” when residents create six km of “carpets” on the streets made from colored sawdust, flowers and other materials. The Teatro Metropólitan is one of Mexico's best-known movie theaters. Before being the Teatro Metropólitan it was known as the Cine Metropólitan, and was built as a movie palace. The architect was Pedro Gorozpe E. with interior decorations by Aurelio G. Mendoza. The Cine Metropolitan opened on 8 September 1943 with the Argentinian film "Dieciséis años" (1943) starring María Duval and Alicia Barrié.
