Carl-Johan Bernhardt
Carl-Johan Bernhardt (1946-2016), was a male international table tennis player from Sweden. He won two bronze medals at the 1963 World Table Tennis Championships and 1967 World Table Tennis Championships in the Swaythling Cup (men's team event). The 1963 team consisted of Hans Alsér, Stellan Bengtsson and Kjell Johansson and the 1967 team consisted of Alsér, Christer Johansson, Kjell Johansson and Bo Persson. He was a five times gold medal winner in the team event at the European Table Tennis Championships and played 90 times for the Swedish national team. Falkenberg
Falkenberg is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Falkenberg Municipality, Halland County, Sweden, with 27,813 inhabitants in 2019 (out of a municipal total of about 45,000). It is located at the mouth of river Ätran (river), Ätran. The name consists of the Swedish words for falcon (''falk'') and mountain (''berg''). Falkenberg is a popular tourist destination in the summers, and the main beach of the town is Skrea strand. The European Table Tennis Championships is an international table tennis competition for the national teams of the member associations of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU). First held in 1958, the ETTU organised the European Championships every two years in even-numbered years until 2002, when they changed to odd-numbered years. Since 2007, the competition has been contested annually. Bo Persson (table Tennis)
Bo Persson is a male former international table tennis player for Sweden. Table tennis career He won a bronze medal at the 1967 World Table Tennis Championships in the Swaythling Cup (men's team event), a feat which he repeated eight years later at the 1975 World Table Tennis Championships. In between the two bronze medals he recorded his greatest achievement by winning a gold medal in the Swaythling Cup (men's team event) at the 1973 World Table Tennis Championships as part of the Sweden team that contained Anders Johansson, Kjell Johansson, Stellan Bengtsson and Ingemar Wikström. He also won four gold medals in the team event at the European Table Tennis Championships and played wearing spectacles. He later became a coach. Kjell Johansson (table Tennis)
Kjell Johansson (5 October 1946 – 24 October 2011) was a male table tennis player from Sweden. From 1963 to 1977 he won several medals in singles, doubles, and team events in the European Table Tennis Championships and in the World Table Tennis Championships. He won the 1965 Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal. He was a native of Eskilstuna. He also won three English Open titles. Johansson was called ''Hammaren'', which means "The Hammer" in Swedish, because of his hard forehand. His brother Christer Johansson was also an international table tennis player. Johansson died in Eksjö on 24 October 2011, aged 65, following a long illness. The World Table Tennis Championships are table tennis competitions sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). The World Championships have been held since 1926, biennially since 1957. Five individual events, which include men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's double and mixed doubles, are currently held in odd numbered years. The World Team Table Tennis Championships, which include men's team and women's team events, were first their own competition in 2000. The Team Championships are held in even numbered years. In the earlier days of the tournament, Hungary's men's team was a dominant force, winning the championships 12 times. This was followed by a short period of dominance by Japan in the 1950s. Hans Alsér (23 January 1942 – 15 January 1977) was a Swedish international table tennis player and later the head coach of West German (1971–1974) and Swedish (1974–1977) national teams. His nickname, Hasse (Alsér or Alser), was often used in media. Table tennis career Hans Alsér was an international top level player. He was the European champion (singles) 1962 and 1970, World champion (doubles) 1967 and 1969, and European champion (doubles) 1966. Hans Alsér was Swedish singles Champion six times.
